Purchased vehicle non-running several years ago. Finally got it running Dec 2012 Drove it until June 19 2013 putting approximately 3500 miles on it. Coming home hit a bump and registered a ground fault and the truck stopped running. I have been searching for the ground fault since then and knowing nothing about electricity cannot find it.
Truck is powered by 52 lead acid batteries through a Hughes Dolphin controller driving a 50KW AC motor. Top speed is governed by computer at 80 mph. Sale also includes laptop with serial port/cable and software for diagnostics and setting parameters for system.
The batteries are 52 lead acid GEL sealed batteries 26 installed in Dec 2012 and 26 more added 2/1/13. Range before the ground fault was approximately 60 miles however the most I ever drove it on one charge was 72 miles and it was starting to slow down as I pulled onto my home street. After getting the truck running I had the body redone and repainted so there are no scratches chips dents or dings and as an after thought two yellow and blue stripes were added. ( see pictures) Specs on the truck as it was built in 1994 can be seen here. (http://uselectricar.com/Truck.html)
The truck is available with all the parts I have accumulated manuals and a tilt kit that I never had time to install that would allow the truck bed to tilt up for easy access to the battery box. I also am including two wall mounted Magnechargers for 220 volt charging. Before the ground fault both Magnechargers worked and also there is a 110 port that works.
The ground fault is the key. If you can find the fault the truck is a great vehicle to drive around town. Email me with any questions. Shipping is buyers responsibility. Will assist with arranging pickup times. No reserve.
