It tends to be a rare and unusual site to see a mid-year Corvette with an automatic transmission. That's because automatic mid-years are rare. From '63-'67 production of the Powerglides hovered around 10% vs. manual transmission equipped cars. And let’s face it like Rodney Dangerfield these slush boxes got no respect! However we here at Corvette Mike have noticed a bit of a resurgence of late in the popularity of automatics. Maybe it's the So. Cal traffic? Or maybe it's the novelty of having something in your mid-year that most don't. Regardless maybe a bit of R-E-S-P-E-C-T is overdue . . .
We just got this very sharp '66 from a local owner and it's a pretty neat car if we do say so ourselves. It's been cosmetically restored with excellent Sunfire Yellow paint and very nice Black interior. It's equipped with many of the options that make it a pleasure to drive and spend time in such as leather seats Teak/Tele steering wheel power brakes power steering power windows factory am-fm radio w/power antenna both hard and soft tops and knock off wheels with radial tires. The original 300hp engine is long gone but in its place is a very stout 327 out of a '64 fuelie (now carbureted) and quite capable of moving this '66 down the road as nice as you please!
