1981 Corvette in the rare 2 tone paint, ith pinstripe. The paint has some fade as it was stored outside for 3 summers. I am the 3rd owner, econd owner took it on a debt for work he did. This car has less than 51,000 miles on it, he engine is very nice. I had a mechanic from Phoenix/Scottsdale who works on Barrett Jackson auctioncarshere less than 2 months ago look thru the engine and he said it had never been tuned or adjusted other than factory, aid it was in very nice condition. The AC blower works, just needs a leak sealed and then recharge. I have a few cans of original R12 that will go with it as Ive not converted the AC to R134A. Everything is original on this car except the stereo, hich the original owner had switched, ut I do have the original and goes with car. The glass t tops are the original M1131 Blue, oth nice no crack or chips. The car starts up instantly and runsvery quiet. I had the brakes don, calipers, spent 1000.00, ave receipts. This was done along with synthetic oil change less than 5 months ago. No leaks, o noises, ust a nice survivor that could use paint touched up, aybe some carpet, ut seats, nd dash and everything else are nice. Drivers seat cushion has small seam rip, asy repair. I have covers on to keep them nice. This car could be show car with very little resto

Hello. Thanks for posting the trim tag. Please read this:
Historically, ou have a very rare Corvette.
You have one of 80 to 100 St. Louis-built 1981 Corvettes that were test painted in the two-tone enamel paint which would be used in the new Bowling Green factory.
All St Louis cars were lacquer paint. Your is enamel. See the E after the 80 and 98? Those paint color codes were Bowling Green colors, ut you have a car that was built in St Louis. I can tell by the VIN number and the trim tag format.
Additionally, ou have a Cinnabar interior. Actually, he Corvette brochure called this color Rust. It was a one-year color and available only in St Louis.
If you have a Corvette Black Book, ook at the bottom of the 1981 Corvette page - the left page. It explains it.
I have only seen one other paint test 1981 Corvette. It was the Beige/Dark Bronze exterior with the Rust interior. It's here in the Los Angeles area, nd he had it repainted. Yours seems to be original paint. Extra points for you.
Anyway, ou might want to update your post.
Respond if you want more info.
Best,
Robert Casey, os Angeles
