Click above arrow for video of this 1966 Chevy Malibu Chevelle 2dr hardtop! (if doesnt work try watching on non mobile device!!
I bought this 1966 Chevy Malibu 2 door Hardtop Chevelle from a family of which the grandfather had passed away and I was told he owned this car for over 35 years. He used to drive it everywhere and in the 1990's he put a 1980's 307 v8 in the car and changed the three speed column shift to a three speed floor shift. He drove the car all the time until the mid 2000's at which time he passed away. His son put the car in storage and had plans to restore it and use it himself. He ran out of money and time and decided to sell the car to me.
We pulled it out of storage and got it to our shop and we put a used 4 barrel carb on it along with new cap rotors wires and plugs. We put new fuel in the gas tank and a battery andit fired right up. Upon driving this car we found the three speed transmission shift all of the gears and the engine runs great. We found the shifter has lots of slop and positively needs to be replaced. ( drop a three speed hurst shifter in it)
The car comes with a clean ready to register title which matches the data and vin plate. It needs a complete interior. The trunk pan has a plate over the floor due to pit holes and small holes and should be replaced. The doors open and shut and the windows go up and down, it is missing one vent window glass) the tires look good with tred but are old and should be replaced. It has coker wheels which are pictured.
My plans are to clone this to a SS malibu with a big block and a 4 speed but i just do not have the time to do it. You can drive this car the way it is with a new shifter. The brakes work fine. The car starts right up and the engine has no knocks misses or smoke.
AS the video shows this car sounds mean and MOVES!!!!! super fun to drive. again, want to emphasis that it needs a new shifter. The linkage all shifts fine. I am setting the reserve well below the market value to ensure a sale. This car has had a repaint back in the 90's as pictured, t obviously needs a new repaint and there was some filler in it although I do not know how much was used. I invite you to come and inspect the car or hire ebay to do a indpendant inspection for you as everyones idea of what a classic should be is different. I require a 500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the time frme or before you come for the car I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about it. I can recommend shippers I have used in the past who have been very reasonable! Thanks and have a great time bidding on this 66 Chevelle Malibu!!!
