this auction presents a very rare, ery nice, nd all original equiped, 969 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible, true classic car. Accurate odometer reading of 38,794 miles. This Corvair has a clear Michigan title, nd to the best of my knowledge has had just two owners. The present and longest, s my father. First in Florida and then over the past 40 years, iving in North Carolina and more recently, n Michigan. It has spent the last forty years out of bad weather, lways stored in a garage, nd most always under a car cover. This car cover is also included in the auction. The drive train is the stock and original 6 cylinder engine, ated at 95 hp, ith an automatic transmission. This car has always started, nd continues to run great. the interior is all original and in very good condition, ith only one small separation of material about three inches, n the drivers seat area. All carpeting, ats, ash board, nterior trim and other upholstery, re in great condition. All dash gauges work as they should with the exception that the clock and the gas gauge are not properly functioning. All lights, urn indicators, loor dimmer switch, ipers, eater, nd radio are all completely functional. The white convertible top, ear window, nd body colored convertible top snap down cover are all original and in good condition. Only a couple of the cover snaps don't hold. The convertible top motors run without a flaw in the raising ans lowering of the top. The windshield, ront and back side windows, nd side vent windows, re original and in good shape. The drivers side front window requires slight assistance when first initiating the upward cranking, hen works well to completion. the antenna, umpers, nd exterior body chrome trim are all in good condition with very minimal pitting. The "lime" green body paint is original, nd has some small chips along the leading edge of the hood and some small spots along the side panels. There are three small areas that show some rust. These are at the base of the antenna, he bottom edge of one of the front quarter panels, nd a small spot in one of the door panels. The under body and framework all appear to be both solid and without any rust damage noted. All of the floor panels are very sound and solid. The tires are all in good shape, ll of the original 26 inch diameter size, long with a brand new spare tire. the wheels are in good condition and covered with the original Chevrolet chrome spoked wheel covers, hich are in excellent condition. The trunk and the engine compartment are clean and rust free.
This year and model of the Corvair is getting hard to find. The condition of this car makes it ideal to either be transformed into a show quality classic, r to be used as a daily drive.
