Brown Betty is a 1977 Chevrolet Silverado Square Body pickup truck. This is a brand new build that has recently been completed. The truck has 77,589 miles. Approximately 120 miles on the new build.
Betty was originally a long wheelbase pickup. We converted the truck to short wheelbase at our shop in Louisville, entucky. The chassis was step-notched and plated for added strength - it was done the correct way and done very nicely. The entire chassis, nderside of cab, nd the underside of the bed were thoroughly cleaned and painted with rust preventative satin black enamel.
Betty has been completely repainted to her original two-tone colors. The entire truck was sanded and refinished using high quality DuPont Axalta base-coat/clear-coat materials. The paint is approximately one month old. There is no body filler in the truck. There is one small dent near the top of the tail gate that is mostly unnoticeable. The rocker panels (inner and outer), ower cab corners, nd front cab mounts were replaced on both sides of the truck using new reproduction components from LMC Truck in Lenexa, ansas.
The truck is powered by a strong running 350 V8 Chevrolet Small Block engine (I believe it is the original engine to the truck) and a three-speed automatic transmission. The truck runs excellently - no knocking, moking, lipping, tc. The truck steers nice and drives out really well - it sounds great through dual Flow Master mufflers.
The interior of the truck is mostly original and in clean, ood condition. The previous owner replaced the shift handle on the steering column with an aftermarket, hrome shift handle (it works fine) and replaced the radio with an aftermarket unit that fits in the original radio compartment.
The engine compartment is clean for a 38 year old truck and the firewall is exceptionally nice and clean - zero rust.
The tires are good with lots of tread left (probably 85% tread left). The factory hubcaps are driver quality.
The following new parts have been added to the truck:
- Windshield
- 3" drop spindles
- 2" lowering springs
- Shock absorbers (all four corners)
