Its design was considered the most aggressive of the three years. was well received when new and continues to be very popular today. Beginning with an announcement February 4th 1969. Chevrolet built 3. 75 Indy Pace Car Convertibles that were replicas of the two actual cars that ended up pacing the 1969 Indianapolis 500 race. As the 3. 75 Pace Car convertibles had a unique combination of trim and paint and a well defined production period. confirming a correct original Pace Car is not difficult. This example has all of the correct markers for a true RS/SS Pace Car convertible and its trim tag appears to be original and not tampered. The car does show some evidence of previous repair and no longer is equipped with its original engine or gauge cluster but remains a sound example of the marque.
