1955 Chevrolet BelAir 2 door hardtop
OVERVIEW: This vehicle is somewhat restored – mainly a car that can be displayed at car shows, f desired, ut built as a car that nobody should be afraid to drive. It was not a body-off restoration. It has been repainted and has fresh upholstery. The drivetrain is almost completely rebuilt. VintageAir under-dash air conditioning supplements the original heater. An aluminum radiator for efficiency, lectronic ignition for reliability, nd an Optima battery were added to the vehicle. Other than these components – the car was built as an all-original unit.
ENGINE: Recently rebuilt original 265 Power Pack motor. The rotating assembly was fully balanced. The original heads were cut from the original 1.72” intake valves to larger 1.94”. The cam is a stock-type replacement with hydraulic lifters. A completely re-conditioned four-barrel carburetor sits on top of the cast-iron intake. A Crane Cams Fireball electronic ignition module replaces the points in the original distributor. Stock manifolds do their job to remove the waste and dual exhaust exits at the rear bumper.
TRANSMISSION: Original cast-iron two-speed Powerglide, reshened up a few years ago. Original rear end / open differential with 3.36 gears (factory with PG).
CHASSIS: Original frame, uspension, nd all fourdrum brakes – all in excellent condition. A fresh original-style master cylinder does not have power assist, or does the original steering setup.
WHEELS / TIRES: Original 15” steel rims, owder-coated for extra protection and ease of maintenance. Bias-ply original-style wide white wall tires and restored stock ’55 hubcaps.
EXTRAS: Original fender skirts are in the trunk. An original spare tire setup is back there as well, long with a custom embroidered car cover.
