Description

I have a 1961 Chrysler New Yorker up for bids. I bought it from the second owners. They acquired it in 1972. Until I bought the car it had been within 45 miles of the original dealership in South Dakota it's entire life.New Yorker has a 413 V8 that was rebuilt a few years ago with almost no miles since (was painted blue). I still have the original Golden Lion valve covers with the car (black and gold). Pushbutton transmission shifts real strong, ushbuttons operate good also. Body was repainted to red in the 80'S, as originally a salmon color. All the door jams, runk, under hood were all repainted also. Only thing not painted were the inner fenders under the hood. Paint is a driver quality. Body is very solid. The only rust that I found was at the bottom edge of the rear quarters (I have a picture of each side). It's just started to show. Inner quarters are solid. I didn't find any rust under the car. Looks to have been under coated years ago. Trunk floor was painted back when car was repainted. Looks like it could of been a rust inhibitor paint. Floor is solid. I have the spare tire but no jack. Most of the chrome is very nice on the car. You can see in the pictures that the rear bumper has a couple small dings in it.All the lights seem to work including backup lights. Dash lights also work. I the picture of the dash you can see the red light on in the middle, hat is for the emergency brake that also works good. Padding in the dash is bad. Turn signal lever is below the push buttons for the transmission. Got a new compressor for the factory air conditioning about 4 years ago. Last owner said it blew cold for about 3 years so should just need a charge (notice in the picture of the dash the adjustable air vents on the top of the dash). Push buttons for the heater defrost work and turns the blower on. About 4 years ago the Chrysler got a complete brake job including the master cylinder so power brakes work as they should. Has factory cruise control that works good, ower windows front windows work fine, he back ones need a little help. They go up and down with guidance of your hand. Power seat. Seats have original upholstery that are in decent shape but do have some seems that a cracked. Headliner has a few holes in it.As you can see the Chrysler was well optioned for it's year. Drivers arm rest shows wear. Tires are in good shape. When I got the car it had a full tank of old gas. I've put about 200 miles on it but it still has that bad gas smell. Runs down the road good but when bought I'd suggested cleaning the gas out, uning it up, hanging fluids before you drive it much. Choke is set a little rich. If car has set awhile I'll dump a little gas in the carb before I start it, hen it fires right up. The car was running about an hour during taking these pictures. If you look at the picture of the dash you can see where the gauges were sitting after running that long. Gas gauge worked when it was full, ot to about 3/4 then fell to empty. This is a very well preserved old Chrysler I think you could be proud to own. I went into details of everything that I could think of on the car. Please ask questions as I want everyone happy when they buy this car. I'm selling it as-is. I have a clear title in my name. Chrysler can sit in my building until you can arrange transport. I'd like to be paid in full in 7 days. I have more pictures I can send to serious buyers.

I will post a buy it now if we can agree on a price. Thanks for viewing my auction!!!
