Description
NO RESERVE: Rare 1964 Chrysler Imperial Crown 61k original miles. 413 V8. Options include power seats. power windows. am/fm radio with rear speaker. pushbutton automatic transmission. factory rustproofing and passenger side mirror. As the link below explains. the value of the '64 Imperials is steadily increasing. The mid 60's Imperial models are particularly desirable; the engines have higher compression and increased horsepower. lots of chrome accents and bumpers that follow the trim and contours of the body; unlike the more sedate. less stylish look of the later 60's Imperial models. Also considering sale of my other show quality car (It's been a tough winter). a 1962 Cadillac Deville Convertible with recent paint. interior and top. See pix at bottom. http://www. imperialclub. com/Articles/64Features/index. htmMechanical: The Imperial has always been regularly maintained. She's powerful. smooth and quiet. just a pleasure on the highway cruising along at 75. If you've had a 60's full size Mopar you know how they can begin feeling "loose" and rattle-y if not properly maintained. Over the last few years she got a new radiator & water pump. new brakes. new alternator. new fuel pump. new 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor. new starter. new engine mounts. nbsp;and new valve cover gaskets. I bought the Chrysler from the son of the original owner. I've had a few of these Imperials. this is the first one that had the unique Mopar push-button transmission operate properly. it's really cool. The transmission was rebuilt about 20 years ago including new shifter solenoids for the pushbutton operation. All the body panels line up perfectly and the doors. hood and trunk open and close easily and the power bench seat operates properly. Cosmetic: The Imperial was painted about 10 years ago. it's got a nice deep shine. no bodywork necessary anywhere. Interior was entirely redone by an upholstery shop that specializes in classics; all original patterns and materials were used. Everything was done; leather. vinyl. carpet. armrests. door panels. visors. headliner. etc. The leather seats look amazing. they're supple and comfortable. The door panels and rear panels are gorgeous. complete with the pop up door armrests for storage. The chrome bumpers and brightwork are in great shape. no dents. scratches. pitting or fading. they shine brilliantly. The top of the dash pad around the speaker is beginning to curl up. I was told it could be straightened with a heat gun and pressure. The factory rustproofing they gave these cars was very effective. the body is solid throughout as you can see from the pix of the trunk floor. When you look at. get into and drive this car it's clear that's she's always been treated with love and has spent her life as a "Garage Queen". She's roadworthy. all directional/brake/turn signal/headlights work. Engine always starts easily. cruises nicely on the highway. holds the road perfectly. 413 V8 moves with LOTS of power. The Chrysler tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly. idles perfectly and the suspension is luxurious. She is almost spotless underneath; floors and trunk completely solid. body never patched. No leaks. garage floor always dry when I take her out. Overall. it drives like an American classic luxury car should. I also have the velvet finish owner's manual and other paperwork that came with the car when purchased. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Imperial is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well. I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary. cost of shipping to paid by buyer. If you need it I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used many times in the past; they're professional. reliable and have great rates. Classic Rare Mopar which will only appreciate in value! Any questions feel free to call or email. 914-224-3230
