Description

1939 Chrysler in need of restoration. Original numbers matching engine / body / NYS transferable registration. Original body color was gray. I have owned this car since 1988. Engine rebuilt by prior owner. I recently pulled car out of long term storage. I just had the starter, master cylinder, and carb professionally rebuilt. Just tuned and all fluids changed. I used the correct GL4 140 weight oil for the tranny and steering box and 90 weight for the rear. Car runs and yard drives. I use the parking brake to stop. It needs new tires and brake shoes. It also should have the wheel brake cylinders rebuilt. The car needs paint, interior, and pot metal restored. Shop manuals included with sale. The carb has to be adjusted or checked out by another shop. A new rebuild kit costs $39 which might be the way to go. The carb shop's test equipment was destroyed in a building collapse and they did the best they could. The clutch makes a rubbing sound when shifting. I don't know if it is temporary from sitting so long or if it needs to be rebuilt. It shifts fine between all gears when driving. Low reserve.
