Description

Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

West Coast Classics are proud to present an exceptionally straight and rust free and great daily driving survivor of this very attractive special edition 1964 Chrysler 'Silver 300' 2 door Hardtop Coupe with a 383 CID 305 HP V8 engine with believed to be 40K original miles! This is a superbly straight and virtually completely stock surviving example of an obviously always garaged car with no signs of any accident damage and with a completely straight and honest body with absolutely no rust. Hoping to capitalize on their legendary letter series Chrysler introduced non-letter versions of the Chrysler 300 to replace the Windsor in 1962 and these non-letter versions were nearly identical looking cosmetically apart from their more standard engines. Midway through 1964 Chrysler introduced a special spring edition to the 300 line called the 'Silver 300' to help increase sales before the redesigned 1965 models were announced. The 'Chrysler Silver 300' was a limited and distinctive derivative of the regular full size two door 300 coupe and reportedly only some 2152 'Silver 300's were built and 255 'Silver 300K's. The 'Silver 300' package was only available on the 300 and 300-K 2 door hardtops and consisted of 'Silver Mist' paint a shade offered on Dodges and Plymouths but not on the full size Chrysler until then a black vinyl canopy top and molding and only one color interior; black. Any option available on a 300 or 300K was available on the 'Silver 300' models.Stagnation is strictly forbidden when it comes to top-of-the-line cars and whenever a marque's engineers feel a certain marque is looking beginning to look outdated a special edition is sure to be in the works. This was never truer than in mid 1964 when Chrysler minted the 'Silver 300' edition models of the 300 range not just as special edition cars but as part of a full sales and promotional package Along with the car a dealership would get the distinctive Chrysler 300 window posters showroom trim floormat advertisements and postcards. The Chrysler 'Silver 300' edition was backed up by Chrysler's biggest Sping promotion in the company's history with ads touting the Silver 300's option package which included a distinctive inset black vinyl canopy roof treatment and a custom black interior featuring bucket seats. Competing with the likes of the Buick Wildcat Oldsmobile 88 and Mercury Monterey the Chrysler Silver 300 was built as a very limited edition with each participating dealer receiving only one car each! This is an absolutely stunning car in this striking color combination with an original Black Vinyl roof in original limited edition 'Silver' color with incredibly rare original and optional bucket seats (that furthered the similarity to the letter series cars) in Black and embossed with Chrysler emblems with original perforations to allow breathing and with a very rare center console with the optional floor shifter transmission (unlike the majority of the cars which were built with the dash mounted push button Torqueflite transmission) and tachometer and with a beautiful original headliner with headliner bows and the car has full floor deep pile carpeting a padded color-keyed dashboard with Deluxe interior appointments Map lights Power steering Power brakes Variable speed wipers original AM radio undercoating Special 300 trim and identification and new whitewall tires. The car is a true survivor which was obviously always garaged and is a perfect candidate for any Chrysler/Mopar collector or classic car enthusiast. The car has reportedly recently come out of storage from where it was only driven sparingly and with a believed to be 40K original miles. The car is virtually all stock and complete with many original parts including its original AM radio spare wheel and jack. The obviously low mileage 383 V8 engine runs strong and sounds absolutely magnificent and this particular car drives really well - must be driven to be appreciated - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles shakes or rattles. This very rare and limited edition Spring special 1964 Chrysler Silver 300 combines iconic styling performance and luxury and this is an extremely unusual opportunity to own a correct and stock great daily driving example of this very striking and original 1964 Chrysler Silver 300 2 door Hardtop coupe in very fine daily driving condition ready for any classic American car or Mopar enthusiast to enjoy or collect today! For further information contact West Coast Classics through Ebay or on 310-399-3990 during regular California business hours.
