1993 Chrysler Imperial (the last year they made them) in fair shape. Dings, cratches, ocker panels a little rusted out on two front doors and looks like the rust is starting to set in on the bottom rear quarter panels. I drove it weekly back and forth to Peoria (about 500 mile round trip) for a year (2012) and it got around 26-28 mpg. Rear tires are at about 70% tread and fronts are at about 30%. Transmission is very strong. I have only driven it maybe a couple of times a month in the past 3 years. It has been parked outside for the past 7-8 years. This car belonged to my father before me and he bought it from the local Chrysler dealer as a used car with about 25K miles on it.
Now for the good stuff. In the last 20K miles I have replaced:
• fuel pump
• coil packs
• cam sensor
• crank sensor
• transmission sensors
• throttle position sensor
• Engine Control Module
• Body Control Module
• ignition switch
• rear axle
• windshield
• starter
• water pump
• muffler
• O2 sensor
Now the bad stuff:
• needs a new headliner
• front tires are at maybe 30%
• dings and scratches
• needs a new rear bumper
• A/C leaks (only holds a charge for about a week)
• sometimes the radio turns off for no reason
• one of the back doors sometimes doesn't want to latch and you have to slam it a couple of times to get it to trip the latch
• recently developed electrical problems and I think it needs a alternator.
It does charge but only at higher speed. Sometimes it seems to have a power surge and makes the dash go a little haywire and then go dark and might force the car into the Chrysler 'limp mode'. When this happens, the computer can be reset by removing the battery cable and then putting it back on the battery. I was told that it is probably the voltage regulator on the alternator.
Speedometer is off a little. When the car says that you are going 85mph, ou are really going about 72 mph. It has been this way since my father bought it but it never bothered him since he only drove about a 6 mile/day round trip to work and back. I did the math on it and I believe that (according to my calculations) the actual mileage on the car would be about 107K miles. This car could be restored or just use it as a parts car.
This is in drivable condition and was plated through the end of June 2015.
Buy the engine and I will throw the car in for free!!!
