Description

Because of the pending sale of my former residence on Shelter Island, am selling my 1972 Chrysler Town and Country Wagon which is in remarkable unmolested condition. As you can see from the condition description, his car suffered damage which necessitates body work, nd thus my expectations for this auction are not great! What I can say though, s that this is an excellent restoration candidate, ith little needed to bring her back to the near-pristine condition I received her in, ack in 2004. Additionally, here are good parts in this car that alone are worth nearly $3000.Crager Rims: $ 375 at least, ccording to other auctions on this site.Performance Analysis' replacement ATC module, $600 value and yes the part conveys with a transferrable warranty (!). This part is featured on the manufacturer site as you can see:
perfanalysis.com/climate-control/acc-version-i/
ALL of the original Bakelite ATC modules have failed or will fail. It is a certainty. This is an essential part for any Auto-Temp II vehicle and as I said, t's warranted on this car, he purchase document will transfer with the vehicle.
Limited Slip Differential - I have gone 50 MPH in driving snow for over an hour on Sunrise Highway in this car - the only vehicle that could pass us was a Hummer. This part is over $500 new, nd this is of course not an aftermarket part but the original 8 3/4 sure grip.Engine and Transmission in good working order the last time the vehicle was started - fall 2013.Rear Air module, ounted inside the roof - a rare option with its own set of controls.I did at one time have the air conditioning working. It would work again if taken to a skilled radiator shop for an overhaul. I'll point out that Freon has come down in price; I recently charged another vehicle of mine and it was a reasonable cost far less than converting to R134 would be.I've used synthetic oil and transmission fluid since I bought the vehicle in 2004. I am sure it will need to be topped off before doing anything with it - synthetics tend to drain out past gaskets when sitting.I replaced the AM radio with a good Panasonic that can play MP3 disks, nd I also replaced the speakers with good modern polypropylene speakers in the back. The stereo went in great without having to cut the dash. Pretty amazing. If you wanted to put a Music Master AM radio back in it, ou could do it and nobody would be the wiser. Finally, replaced the exhaust pipe some years ago, found one of the last ones - it's a single exhaust but is the correct pipe, othing improvised.Apologies for not having newer photos as I do not live in the vicinity of the vehicle any longer. I will be on the site in the beginning of December to clear out my house in advance of the closing. But these photos were taken in 2010 before I backed it into the tree and they reflect substantially the condition of the vehicle, nce cleaned up.
Please take a look at the last pic I added - I have marked the areas where body work is needed. The rear left tail light (1) lens needs replacing and the part is included with the vehicle, he steel trim rail (2) needs to be replaced and the steel frame of the vehicle needs pulling out at that place so the tailgate can open and close again, nd (3) the weatherstripping above the rear window needs to be replaced. I have a body shop here in California that says they can find it. Perhaps you may or may not need that help but I am happy to offer it.I really want my beautiful brown bomber to find a good home. Hopefully she will find her way into loving and capable hands, nd not become a demo derby car which would be a crying shame.Best of luck and happy bidding!
