The 1937 CORD 812 Sportsman Replica was factory built by Samco in l969--47 years ago. It originally was built with a 302 Ford V8 engine with automatic, ower steering and disc brakes. This is not a kit car, ut a factory built low production car that was built in Oklahoma by Samco.
The 1936-37 Cord is arguably one of the most beautiful cars ever made. With values rising well into the 6 figures, he replica movement started in the 70's. The first Cord Replicas were Glenn Pray's 8/10 Cord which was smaller than the original and sported Corvair Running gear. The SAMCO replicas were factory built and sported higher performance drivetrains, he pinnacle being the Chrysler 440 Magnum in the Royale. These cars provide all the panache of the original Cord while exhibiting the drivability of a more modern car with the blistering performance of the MOPAR big block.
This car is in very good overall condition and runs and drives very well. With a 440 Magnum, his car is a very stout performer, nd will provide lots of dependable driving pleasure.
Not many of these Replicas were made making them actually more rare than the originals. In 29 years, have only seen two other Cords, ut these were the model 8/10.
