HISTORY:
Original femaleowner bought in 1982. Sold in 1986 with 55k miles. 2nd owner (I have his phone number) lived in Iowa. Had car GARAGE KEPT for 28 years! I bought the car 2 years ago. 2nd owner drove it 1,600 miles to me in Florida without incident! I am the3rd owner.
BODY:
New $7,000 paint job base/clear. Color is the EXACT Datsun silver as original. New emblems & specially made "TURBO" door decals recreate the factory originals. The only emblem thatI could not findis the "TURBO" emblem on the hatch. Chrome ones are available butchrome is not original so I didn't replace that one. New windshield. Car spent 3 months in body shop because the owner is a perfectionist. All gaps are ideal.The only body part that needed attention was the right fender which had a rust spot at the bottom. I found an original Datsun(not aftermarket) fender with no rustto replace. I removed it from the other car myself. I have the original fender, if desired. Door and trunk jams not painted by choice. The doorsclose so perfectly I did not want them removed. The jams look fine though. The undercarriage has been treated so it will be good for many years to come. All suspension bushings have been replaced with red urethane bushings so the car handles great. Original t-top bags are in the hatchback area. T-tops remove and replace as new. They click and seal into place much better than my IROC. Datsun made quality cars.
INTERIOR:
Original cloth seats. Newer carpet and floor mats. Rear windows still open and close via interior levers. All glass in great condition. Never smoked in. All original except for the radio which was replaced about 20 years ago. A nice vintage piece in itself. Steerling wheel has no rips or tears. Excellent condition for 34 years old. Small rip on driver seat as seen in video. Needs headliner (local interior shopquoted me $200).
ENGINE:
All original 2.8L motor which has never been cracked open. Motor runs great andwithout hesitation. Oringal turbo which spools on command and whines as it should. I was going to replace the engine with a new long block but my mechanic wouldn'tlet me. He reminded me that a car can only be original once. This engine runs so well, he assured me it would be good for another 100,000 miles. Engine bayhas been detailed. Valve cover was removed and repainted. Show ready. You are welcome to speak to my mechanic for inquiries. I have a lot of cars and he takes care of all of them.
Transmission:
5 speed transmission was replaced about 30k miles ago. Functions as new.Shifts smoothly. New clutch. New parking brake.
Keep in mind this is an original 44 year old car. It is not a new car nor is it a $50,000 restored car. It is priced well. Reserve at only 10k. No disappointments. Good luck!
