Up for auction is a 1967 Datsun 1600 Roadster convertible. This vehicle is being sold as a parts car. No reserve auction, was told to sell it. I am listing this car for a friend who was the second owner. The miles on it are unknown, t has spent most of its time in Oregon and then to Idaho. It has been parked for the past 12 years inside. The brakes and emergency brake work. I am unsure as to the condition of the engine but I was told the owners brother had replaced the engine with the same 1600 but with more horsepower.
I have taken several dozen pictures of the vehicle and inspected the under carriage. There is three areas of rust on the battery tray, ehind the drivers door and some small bubbles on the right rear side. The drivers side and passenger side floor boards havr only surface rust with no holes or structural damage. The inside of the trunk has surface rust with no holes or structural damage,
I'm not sure ot the front end suspension but it appears to have been updated over the stock suspension. The upper and lower control arms, acking plates and sway bar are all after market performance. The upper and lower control arms have grease fittings to grease the suspension. The rear suspension has leaf springs added to the stock suspension.
Both side of the frame rails are solid with no holes or structural damage. The jack holes are solid and have no damage.I am really surprised as to the condition of the under carriage and body of this car being 48 years old.
All the glass is free of any cracks. The front windshield on the drivers side has a small chip. It is about as big as the head of a pencil. Very hard to see, tried to take pictures of it but it would not show up, oth side doors and rear top window are clear and scratch free.
There is no seat pads only frame rails. The carpet is gone and the sound proof pad installed when the vehicle was new is coming up. The dash is split, he glove box is all there. The shift boot is torn and damaged, he dash face is in excellent condition, he speedometer and tach are clear and free of scratches. The steering wheel is complete but I think it is missing the center crest.
This vehicle has a roll bar installed and comes with a hard top. The hard top is in excellent condition but the trim and seals most likely need to be replaced. The tires and rims are after market. Chrome with gold chrome inserts. The condition of the tires is good. I would not tow the vehicle on the road. not knowing the true condition of them. They appear to have excellent tread but the left front tire has a slow leek.
The engine compartment is complete, he passenger side front frame rail has rust damage through the rail. It has not affected the structural support of the front end. Starter, lternator, rake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder are all there. Some of the engine wires have damage to them from mice. The radiator is intact and shows no signs of leaking.
The front and rear bumper are in good condition for a car this old. The front bumper has a small bend on the passenger side, he rear bumper is straight and undamaged. The headlights and taillights are in excellent condition and the red lens covers are free on and scratches or cracks.
I have tried to list everything I can see with this car. I had pressure washed the under carriage so that I could see if there was any damage I needed to list. The drive line has been removed and is inside the rear trunk. The vehicle has the original jack and the spare tire screw secure ring. As always this vehicle, 48 year old car is being sold as-is and should be considered a parts car. Things change and this can be made into a very nice restoration.
