Description

If you want to have the only one at the car show hear is your chance. I bought this car 5 years ago to tow my 15 foot airstream trailer but ran out of time and money. I have too many projects. I hate to sell this car but something has to go. I bought it in Albuquerque New Mexico where it was sold new and lived there until I brought it home. The body is in exceptional condition. These cars rusted out very fast and finding one this nice is next toimpossible. The book value of these cars is between 35000 and 45000 when complete depending on how well it is done. I checked the Desoto registry and only found 7 others and 2 of them were inAustralia. The only rust in this car is a small area at the bottom of the rear quarters very close to the bottom. NO REPLACEMENT is going to be needed. The area that needs work will require local patches (mostly flat metal). The fenders, ood, ront inners, oors roof tailgate entire floor pan, ody braces, nd frame are rust free. The only rust is in the lower quarters and a little in the rocker outers. The pot metal as in very nice condition. All the windows are good except for a crack in the passenger side rear door (flat glass). The engine was running when I brought it home but was missing on one cylinder. It was loosing antifreeze out the tail pipe. When I shut it down I put oil in the cylinders and left it set. It is now stuck but I am sure it is only one cylinder. When I took the plugs out of it #2 hascrystalson it so that is the cylinder that has the leak. I was planning on rebuilding it but I am sure the problem is the head gasket. The car had 1972 plates on it and they didn't get much cold weather out there and a lot of the cars ranalcohol antifreeze. It is notuncommonfor the head gaskets to rust out.The body panels are very straight. The only bump on the body panels is the center of the tail gate. That is a very easy fix. There are NO missing parts. I have the firesweep scrips for the quarter panels. I also have the trim molding required to put the 2 tone paint down on the lower body. The car has 4 new tires on it, he original wheel covers. It has the following options. poly head V8 engine with 4 barrel carb dual exhaust, orque flight 3 speed automatic trans, ower steerin, ower brakes =, inted windows, added dash (need replaced), adio. I have a clear Michigan title in my name. As always it is best to take a look before you buy. I am available for inspection any time. Paypal deposit is good for the deposit but the final payment will need to be cash or check. If you are planining on paying by check the funds will have to clear my bank before the car can be picked up.
