Description
This is a 1991 Dodge W-250 CREW CAB4x4 with a Cummins 12 valve diesel. Truly one of a kind!! The crew cab conversion was done several years ago by combining the cab and frame of a 1985 D-250 with the powertrain, front end, bed and everything else from a 1991 W-250 extended cab. At that time the truck received a complete paint job, rebuilt 47rh trans and custom interior, along with other new parts and upgrades. It currently has roughly 200,000 total miles on the engine, with about 40,000 since the conversion. I purchased it two and a half years ago soon after the conversion and have used it almost daily since then. It has been a great truck, however it is a 25 year old 1st gen dodge so it IS NOT perfect. Neither is it in stock form. I am selling as is. No warranties or returns. The Good - Modifications. This truck has a 2nd gen radiator and intercooler with a custom aluminum fan shroud and 3 electric fans. It doesn't get hot! It has a HX-35turbo with 5 blade titanium compressor wheel, 4 inch downpipe and 5 inch exhaust. It has dual ACDelco batteries in the bed since they no longer fit under the hood with the larger radiator. It has a 47rh trans with Goerand valve body and Goerand heavy duty low stall torque convertor. The overdrive and lock-up on this trans are controlled manually although there are pressure switches installed that could be used to do it as well. It has a NP 205 all gear transfer case and 3.54 gearing. It has a B&W turnover gooseneck hitch as well as a B&W bumper hitch and a brake controller mounted in the dash. Also has Borguson steering shaft and Redhead steering gear. It has aftermarket bucket seats front and back w/ folding center consoles, custom door panels, custom headliner, fresh carpet on the floor and 9 autometer gauges. It has factory power windows and locks, factory wiring weakness fixed such as headlights now have relays installed and the 1st gen voltage fluctuation issue is fixed. Now, The Bad- The biggest issue is there is a small area of rust on the roof in an arc over the drivers side door post. Look at it in the pics. This is the only rust I am aware of on the truck. Cab corners and rockers etc. are in good shape and as far as I am aware of the rest of the truck is rust free. However I can't guarantee this as this is a 25 year old truck! The second biggest issue involves the front axle. This truck had aDana 61front axle w/3.07 gears when I purchased it, so to get 3.54s I purchased a salvage Dana 60 with the right gears and took it to a 4x4 shop to have it gone through, kingpins rebuilt, new hubs, etc.. I then installedthe axle and discovered it is slightly bent. It is enough to be visible, but drivesdribes fine and does not wear tires. I have a replacement axle housing and Yukon install kit to fix the issue that will come with the truck. Thirdly, the truck does not have an A/C condenserinstalled. All the rest of the systemis present and was working, and the truck comes with a new 2nd gen condenser as well. It will fit where the trans cooler is currently located between the radiator and intercooler. These are the 3 main problems, some smaller things arethe switches in the driver door to operate the rear pass. side window need to be replaced as well as the rear pass. side window motor. Truck comes with the new window motor. Also the speedometer has not been working correctly of late, and sometimes tach acts as if it has a poor ground. As with lots of 1st gens, the driver door needs adjusting from time to time toshut correctly, and also the wiring harness to the rar axle has a broken plug so currentlythe ABS and parking brake light in dash are illuminated all the time. Cruise control isn't quite right either but believe the problem is related to speedo issue. So, the truck starts and runs great, is mechanically sound, and has no bad leaks or blow by, It drives straight and smooth. Tires on front are nearly new, tires on rar are nearly shot, look at pics. The paint is only several years old but is not perfect, and was not a very professional job. It is peeling in one small spot on tailgate and has some rock chips etc, here and there. No big dents or dings anywhere, body is straight. If you've made it this far, Thank you so much for looking! A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours and full payment within a week. I would prefer local pick up but I will consider working with a buyer provided shipping service or even personally delivering the truck within 250 miles of 71826. If you have any questions send an email! Serious bidders only! Truck is for sale locally also so I do reserve the right to end auction early due to local sale.
