Description

I am listing this car for a friend. It will be shown by appointment only. NOTICE: This car is for sale locally and I may end the auction early in the case of a local sale... No tire kickers. If you cant afford it please do not inquire as it is hard for this person to let it go, however it is a real car and it is for sale . That being said. This a 1966 Dodge Coronet model 440 that was a factory 426 Hemi Four speed car.It is white (originally Red Poly) with red vinyl interior. This car was stolen twice and the engine was removed both times. The owners husband purchased the car to build a street machine. It now has a 472 Hemi, single four carb on a mopar performance aluminum intake. The engine has casting # 2468330 on the pass side of the block, G0034 stamped on the front pad by the distributor. The engine builder told me this was a new Chrysler Performance Block with stock bore purchased around 1996. New 472 stroker crank, performance rods and pistons. He believes the heads are 1966 or 1967 that he professionally rebuilt and installed stainless valves all at a cost of around $18K for the complete engine at the time.Owner says it has less than 1k miles since built but has not been started for almost a year now.The 4 speed trans has a 1971 date code. The rear end is a five lug drum brake Dana 60 and the front has the disc brakes. I do not have any numbers or dates for these. The rear leaf springs have been moved inboard of the frame. There are frame ties and it appears to have been mini tubbed. It does have factory torque boxes unique to hemi and convertible cars. The original fuel tank is missing and it now has a fuel cell and the battery in the trunk. Appears to be 2 1/2 inch aluminized exhaust with headers. The interior was redone a while back, so seats and side trims are nice. This car has been sitting outside for a while and is need of a restoration. As you can see in the pics there is much rust to repair, frame has surface rust, but I see no structural damage, Front and rear floors have at least some small areas through the metal pan. The right front fender has been damaged by a tree in the storm we had recently. I see very little if any issues around the windshield, back glass or rocker panel area so it was either repaired or was good when it was painted . The left quarter window is plexiglass and they do not have the glass that was taken out. Owner has documents from Galen V. Govier verifying authenticity of the car. This car has a New York registration in the owners name and can be signed over to the new owner. It can be changed to a title if your state requires one. Antique cars are not required to have a title in New York. First 6 digits of VIN are: WH23H6 Numbers on the registration and the Left front hinge pillar plate and the core support match. Please do not inquire if you cannot make a genuine offer in cash.By bidding on this car you have agreed that you are satisfied with all of the information provided or by your own inspection. I can arrange for inspection of the vehicle and all documents available prior to bidding. For questions before bidding call Nate at 386 258 9742 leave message, I will call back. Thank you for your time and interest.
