This auction is for a solid 1968 Dodge Charger project. It is a base model originally built with a 318 and manual transmission on the column. It will make someone a nice project due to being really solid. It was in Texas at one time (has the remains of the dealer emblem). Maybe that is where it was sold when new...but I found it in Kansas. It has been stored indoors most of its life. I have too many projects and not enough time...so I am selling a few of them.
This yellow 1968 Charger is a base model. The original engine is included, ut it sat out in the elements for too long so it's most likely junk (may be able to rebuild it...if not, t has some good parts on it). It had a manual transmission shifted on the column. It is a pretty rare combination. The transmission is gone, ut the pedals are there. It may have had a floor shifter in it at one time (has a small hole in the transmission hump). The bell housing and clutch are attached to the engine. The Charger was originally yellow with a black vinyl top and gold interior. It is a very solid car that came here from Texas, ut it does have some dents. The dents can be repaired pretty easily. At least it doesn't have much rust. It is possible to restore this car with patches instead of panel replacement. It is much more solid than most of the other Charger projects advertised. The worst panel is the roof (has some small holes in it due to being a vinyl top car). The gas tank is rusty. The trunk floor may be able to be repaired with patches...or just replace it. The dutchman's panel is pretty good other than a little rust in the corners by the glass. The floor pan is solid but needs a few patches. The best thing is the frame rails will not need replaced. The Charger has a perfect frame (front and rear) with no rust. It is a factory undercoated car. Most of the interior is missing. The gauges are in it though. I have bucket seats from a 2006 charger for it. All of the glass is good other than the windshield (cracked) and driver's door glass (broken). The tape is on to keep it dry inside.
This Charger has its fender tag (in really good condition). I have decoded it. b4 bucket seats. h7 fender/hood mounted turn signal indicators. R1 AM radio. Y6 black vinyl top. 25 drip rail moldings. 30 body belt moldings. 78 wheel lip moldings. A2 2.94 ratio. X- non sure grip. TC Charger. R6 vinyl bucket seats. MY gold interior. PS yellow roof. NS yellow body. T1 monotone paint. UJ (not sure). XP29 baseline Charger. 41 318 2-bbl. 1 3-speed manual - column shift. 33 tires (?). 328 March 28, 968 build date. 086094 vehicle shipping number (on body - radiator support and trunk lip). It is all original body panels. The Charger was built in Hamtramck, ichigan.
I have an extra passenger door (very nice) since the door on the car is a little rough (it could be repaired). I also have part of a passenger quarter panel to replace the damaged area on the car. The fenders were almost rust free (one had a few tiny holes) but had dents. They have been repaired and primed. The hood is gone. The grill is almost perfect. I am including a pair of wiper arms. I also have three side markers...and the front park lights for the valence panel. Wiring is included, oo. The wheel moldings from the front fenders are included.
This Charger is just begging for a big block and 4-speed....it would be a fun toy.
The title will be here in a few days. I just sent off for it...and it will be in my name.
I have a set of Cragars to include with the Charger. They are not perfect but will be good enough for a driver quality car. Two have tires but two have no tires. I also have a pair of wide 15" chrome wheels with slicks and a pair of steel wheels with tires for the front. I am also including a pair of good N50-15 tires (wide tires) for the rear. I have headliner bows to include. I am also including a standard bore 383 4-barrel from a 60k mile 1968 Chrysler New Yorker. It needed rings but was being driven before the engine was pulled and dismantled. It never got rebuilt (still in pieces). It was complete and even had the original carburetor. I have other parts for 383 engines...and a few parts from 318 engines...and heads from a 42k mile 413. I was going to use the 383 in the yellow 1968 Charger...but later got a 70k mile 440 4-barrel with automatic transmission from a 1976 Chrysler New Yorker. The car was being driven until they were pulled. The 440 and 727 were stored in a shed for several years and will most likely need to be rebuilt. I was going to find a 4-speed for it but didn't get to it yet...I was considering using the 727 instead.
I will be happy to show you the Charger if you would like to give it a personal inspection. Delivery may be possible for a fee. I can assist with loading if you need help.
This is your chance to get a rare car. I am listing it only one time, so don't forget to bid if you are interested. It is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I have three Chargers and tons of parts for sale locally as a package deal...or individually. It will be listed in three separate auctions...so check the other ads.
This auction is for the yellow 1968 Dodge Charger.
Good luck and happy bidding!!!!! Don't miss out on this Charger.....
Thanks.
