I have had a lot in inquires about the car and some specific questions regarding its condition and what is included. I want to ensure that as much information is available for you to determine your level of interest. I rather you be informed and know what your buying rather than picking up the car and learning that "easy restoration" turned out to be saved from the crusher and all parts rusted or missing.
First, he VIN on the vehicle is XP29F8BXXXXXX. This is a base 68 Charger that came with a 318 (I didn't crawl under the car to check the block numbers to see if it is the original). The VIN matches the paperwork that I have for the car. The paperwork I have includes a New Jersey Certificate of Ownership and some miscellaneous repair work documents. There are no build sheets that I could find. Because a previous owner opted to switch out the interior I am assuming that anything stuffed under the seats would be incorrect for the car. Next I will try to provide additional information about the condition of the body panels and replacement panels that come with the car. The firewall is clean but the upper cowl panel has some pitting along the seem along the channel where the window fits. Also, have noticed that there is about a quarter size hole on the left side within the engine compartment. Again, he hole is not on the firewall but the upper cowl panel. Also, n the right side of the panel within the engine compartment there seems to be some surface rust about 1-2" in diameter that could turn into pitting if not addressed. The right side rear inner rocker panel (near the rear wheel well) needs minor repair. The location is where the 1/4 panel sets on it. The 1/4 panels are rusted along the bottom edges but our otherwise straight. The replacement parts are the 1/4 panel skins (not the 1/4 panels that include the "B" pillar sheet metal) and appear to have been purchased from from Auto Body Specialties. The inner/outer wheel house's seem to be very solid. The trunk floor looks in good condition but have some residue on portions of the floor. I scraped some of the residue away to see the condition of the floor. The metal appeared good in all the areas I checked. The left trunk panel extension seemed solid but the right extension had some rusting near the rear panel. A set of trunk floor extensions from Auto Body Specialties come with the car. The trunk gutters are clean and without any rust. The trunk lid is clean with no rust issues. The windows are the green tinted "Airtemp" from the plant. There appears to be a new fuel tank installed. The inner fenders appear to be solid with no rust. Although I have started the car, t does not come with a battery. The front lower valance looks straight and I didn't see any rust. The rear lower valance panel has rust on the right side and will need to be replaced. A replacement was purchased from Auto Body Specialties and is included but the part has significant surface rust. The driver seat has two rips on it; one on the bottom and one of the back. The drivers seat has a half inch tear on the bottom left side. Both buckets have the back cardboard. The rear seat is in good condition. The only place I saw wear is on the top back portion near facing the package tray. The dash seems to be complete with all pads. It has the Tic-Toc-Tac with 150 mph speedometer. There is an aftermarket radio in the car and some type of dark plastic filler plate below it. Needless to say, either are original to the car. The seat belts are incomplete; the only portion with the car are the chest belts above each door. There is no carpet. I have not tested the headlight doors or any of the gauges.
I have over 300 photos of the car that I have put on Photobucket. If you wish to review them here is the URL: link
Again, want to represent the vehicle as best as possible. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I want the new owner to be satisfied with the purchase and ensure that they feel the car is as it has been described.
