1970 Dodge Charger R/T
The item you are bidding on is a numbers matching “S Code” 1970 Dodge Charger RT. With 45,000 original miles, his is a true collector’s item. Color is “Go Mango”. This color was one of the new “Hi Impact” colors offered in 1970 and is a head turner to this day. Almost every show I have entered the car in, he came home with a new trophy!! She has the original vinyl top that that is showing its age, ut since I have owned the car, have treated it with Aerospace 303 protectant. I purchased her in 2013 after she had been sitting in a barn in Wisconsin for approximately 15 years. It has been quite the adventure getting her up and going again, ut it is time to part ways and move on to another project. This car is one of 66 Non RT/SE Chargers with the Rim-Blow Steering Wheel (Option S83). This Charger is ready to drive anywhere. Modifications from Factory Original include: Wheels (1970’s vintage) Tires (Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T all the way around) 225/70R15 Front 295/50R15 Rear Bumblebee Stripe – previous owner put on (a little crooked) at some point Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition – with brand new Mopar Performance spark plug wires…. Orange of course!! Restored/Rebuilt All hoses and belts (Hoses are correctly numbered for car) Carter 625CFM carburetor – Rebuilt and ceramic coated in 2015 727 Torqueflight 3 speed automatic – Rebuilt in 2015 Rim Blow Steering wheel – Restored in 2014 and is fully functional Rally Gauge Cluster – Restored in 2014 – stripped, ainted and re- silkscreened NO STICKERS!! Tic Toc Tach is fully functional and clock has been converted to quartz. 4 wheel Drum Brakes – Replaced in 2014. Master Cylinder is new. Car comes with original for rebuild. Fuel Tank Sending Unit – Replaced 2015 Air Cleaner “Pie Tin” - replaced 2014 Rear Shocks – Replaced in 2013 with KYB gas adjust Additional Items that come with the car: Original Build Sheet 1970 Charger Service Manual Project Charger – A very hard to find book by Larry Lyles chronicling the restoration of a 1970 Charger Multiple vintage advertisements, olor chip chart, tc. Original Owner’s Manual Original master cylinder(needs rebuilt) Car Cover – She has been garage kept and the thin cover was used mostly for dust Known Issues with the car: If idling for a long time (parade, tc…) she starts to run hot. I have never let it overheat Cracked Windshield – cracked when I bought it and has not spread Tear and Cracks in Vinyl Top on Driver’s Side Headliner is in need of replacement. Previous owner removed radio antenna and filled in fender hole, ut did not do a very good job. Paint is starting to bubble in a few places and a prior restoration on the rear fender well on the driver’s side could use some TLC.
