Interior was sourced through SMS and after 17 months of waiting for the door panels, was finally able to put all the pieces back together. Everything on the interior is new. Headliner, oor seals, indlace, ackage tray, arpet, eats and door panels. Dash cluster was sent to GCar out of Spokane, a. and they did an exceptional job on the restoration. All gauges work perfectly. Heater control vacuum switch was rebuilt, eater box restored and new control valve installed for reliable heat and defrost. Steering wheel was painted before I got the car to match the interior. The paint started to chip and there are a few cracks so I installed the leather wrap that I think matches pretty darn good. All glass is original to the car and is good except for a chip in the windshield, ust above the wipers at rest. New glass seals front and back.
Under the hood lives a mildly built 440. 9.0:1 compression and was broke in on an engine stand before delivery, 20+ HP and 470+ ft/lbs torque. Heads were ported and hardened seats installed. Edelbrock RPM performer #7194 cam. Edelbrock torker intake with a Holley 780 street dominator. Reproduction max wedge exhaust manifold dump into a complete Accurate exhaust max wedge system with H pipe and cut outs. (ground shaker!) Cope Racing built "Super Street" Torqueflite transmission with new driveshaft and safety loop. Out back is a freshly built 741 cased, .55 Yukon geared, .75 Sure-grip. With manual steering and brakes this car is a real handful and not recommended for the mild at heart. I considered doing the max wedge intake set up but being that I wasn't trying to produce a clone, opted for the single four. Keep in mind that these are standard 915 heads and one would have to swap them out or pick up an A&A Transmission intake with the smaller ported runners + carbs, inkage, ir cleaners, uel lines and choke cables to do the swap.
Other miscellaneous things I should mention. The actual mileage is unknown to me. The current odometer reading is around 35,000 but consider that all the things that would have normally worn out over time have been replaced so..... New brakes all around. The only thing I can think of that wasn't replaced was the hard line from the union in the front to the union on the rear end. Everything else was replaced. New fuel sending unit and hard lines, uel tank was very clean inside and you can see in the photo that it is still undercoated. Distributor swapped out to match the MoPar (orange box) electronic ignition which I tucked in behind the factory horns. Completely rebuilt front end. New tie rods, all joints, ushings, hocks, prings (in the back) and larger torsion bars which I sourced from Firm Feel Inc. Powder coated K member and A arms. New aluminum radiator and transmission cooler. The back up lights and radio delete was my doing.
Seriously, his car is so much fun to drive. I said refurbished earlier because this is not a nut and bolt restoration per say. I did my best to source NOS or at least good used original Dodge parts in order to get this car back together and back on the road where it belongs.
