Description
I bought the car from theoriginal owner with 46000 miles on it and drove it 1000 miles and the head gasket went out. Pulled the engine and resealed and honed it new rings and rocker shafts and new water pump. Re built the transmission and resealed thedifferential. All new brakes, wheel cly(6) hoses, steel lines, S lines in front, 8 trk master cly. New gas tank, hoses, steel 3/8 lines, rebuilt org fuel pump and org 2brl carb. Updated to a 100amp alt. which is mounted under the front left fender with easy toaccesscharging pegs.Aluminum racing 69 Mustang radiator and fanshroud. SS lines from radiator to transmission. I made the whole exhaust system. The high heat paint fell off the headers(that sucked!) The header on the left has 24 differentpieces. They were a LOT of work making them. 2 1/2 pipe all the way to the P-51 exhaust tips. The floor is new and covered in Dynamat, ute mat and new carpet.Interior is mostlyoriginal. I made the kickpanels and the package tray. The seats werereupholstered with new oem matchingmaterial and reused theoriginalvinyl. Newwind lace and headliner. The roof was alsodynamited (this isactually Stinger mat. I'musing Dynomat because most people know what that is) I painted all the window trim and I put new seat belts in (4). The wheels and tires have 7500 miles on them. They are off of a 2010 DodgeChallenger. I put a set of 450 spring coil overs in the front to lower it and still have a good ride. the originaltorsionbar set is still in use also. The rear has newMonroe shocks. The car has 54,000 on it and it's been my daily driver for 7000 miles. It is an on going project of mine, ou know save up some money and do the next thing! I'm moving and it's not coming with me. I have over 10 grand in parts and the car. What's wrong with it? I think thewindshield leaks on the right side and or the door seal (which it has all new seals on the doors) I was waiting to fix the leaks when the car gets painted because all the glass would have to come out.The front seat has a hole in the back where your belt would rub. I can here a small exhaust leak somewhere. The fuel pump leaks engine oil out thepivot shaft(it's the way it was made back then) The transmission has a very small leak at theextension housing.(I haven't had to add fluid in 7000 miles yet) There is aclunk under the right front that I can't find. I think it's the torsion bar doesn't have enoughtension on it? I've been driving that way till I had time to find it. Is this car Perfect? NO. It is an unfinished project. So don't pick it apart. I may have missed something that I didn't think of so but it with all that in mind. It is a "as is car" You will have toarrange the pick up.
