Description

Gentlemen, e have up for bid a 1968 Dodge Power Wagon. This was THE last year for domestic production of the Dodge Power Wagon. As you know, rices have been on the increase and finding one that hasn't been restored or bastardized in some sacrilegious way that makes it "unique" is becoming a little tougher to find. Now before we begin, his will be a long description and I like to talk a lot so if you're not into that stuff, top right now and look at the pictures and maybe watch the walk around video clip at the bottom.
This truck was purchased brand new by the Atlantic Richfield Oil Company back in 1968 and spent its first 20 years out in Texas. I can only assume that it was some sort of field/support truck but really, have no idea. The truck was acquired by a gentleman from Champion, hio back in the mid 80's. He hauled it back to Ohio with every intention of restoring it and making it his driver, ut as we know, he best laid schemes o' mice and men gang aft agley. The truck sat in his garage for roughly the last 30 years with stoic, uiet patience. The time has come to release this truck from it's time capsule and let someone restore it, r do some minor maintenance to it and make it a driver.
Engine - parked when ran haha. Didn't they all? All parts are there, ngine turns over freely and in all reality, ith a fresh battery, little gas and some spark, t probably would fire up. I've pulled one of these engines before that hadn't been run in over 12 years, ut a few new seals in it and it fired right up and was a good runner. Of course this one may blow up for you, ut I had a good experience.
Brakes - if there was an Achilles heel for these trucks it was the brakes. This one is no different. Brakes are currently in-op. That means they don't work. Now this truck is a little different though. It has not one, ut two brake boosters plumbed together. Maybe when the brakes were working, t stopped twice as good as a regular Power Wagon. Or maybe someone figured it was just easier to add a brake booster to an existing one and tie them together. Who knows. It has two brake boosters.
Body - body is in overall solid shape, o rust. Truck of course has dents and dings, umps and bruises. The pictures are pretty accurate plus I have an 8 minute video going over the truck. Original tailgate and spare tire carrier, nd bed. All the parts are there so if you have to restore it, ou aren't chasing parts as much.
Interior - interior is in surprisingly good shape. All gauges are present and accounted for. Padded dash, indow crank is there but does not work, o figure. Doors open and close, indows go up, indows go down. Original headliner, un visors and rear view mirror are all there, ot sure if the rear view mirror is original, ut it looks correct. No busted glass anywhere. Clearly it was kept away from bored kids with bb guns.
Tires - you're gonna need some news one unless you like to ride rough wink wink!
Bidding - pay attention, his is the part that messes everyone up. If you aren't sure if you want this truck or not, on't bid on it. If you have manly visions of chopping firewood and cruising through the forest while sipping your latte and listening to NPR on your morning commute, top right here, he door is that way ---->
If you are still reading, ool. Here's the deal. Winner has two weeks to pick the truck up unless we come to another agreement after the auction. That will be at my discretion. The truck also must be paid for in CASH. If you are not comfortable with that, ou have two options. #1. Don't bid. #2. We can do the transaction at a bank in the relative safety of the public. The title will have to be notarized anyway. I guess there's always a third option. You can pack some heat or bring a bodyguard. He can help load the truck once you realize I'm a straight up guy. Either way, he truck doesn't leave my property until it has been paid for.
Non-paying bidders will be reported and receive negative feedback. I also have a witch doctor that owes me a favor so non-paying bidders should expect a nasty curse as well.
Title is clean and clear as the virgin snow. The truck is sold as is, o warranties expressed nor implied. If you plan on loading this on a trailer, trailer with a winch is ideal, ut I have resources at my disposal to help load it if needed.
I plan to make as much as I can off this truck so bid high and bid often. If it doesn't sell, t sure would break my heart if I had to hang onto it. Good luck fellas and have fun.
Here is the walk around video of the truck I promised.
