Description

1959 Edsel corsair convertible in RED with Black top. Thiscar isharder and harder to find because they just didn't make that many. With the failure of the Edsel line many were crushed orleft for deadbut today everyonewants one. They only built1343 of them and most people say there are less than 100 left today. When you take this beauty to a car show no one else has one.
The car runs and drives as it should. Transmission shifts correctly. The motor does not have any blow by and does not smoke or have any funny sounds. It has had a few engine upgrades like chrome valve covers and a freshly rebuilt autolite 4 barrel carb with only 20 miles on it. The odometer shows just over 23K so I assume that's 123K but I don't know as it was sold to me as mileage exempt. The car is very solid and does not rattle or shake when you drive down the road and has plenty of power. It has power steering and power convertible top but no power brakes. The convertible top is in great shape but does have a rip that has been repaired about 1 to2 inches long. The interior is in very good condition. The carpet is nice (note there is a sticky plastic covering protecting the carpet where the drivers feet rest--in the picture it looks bad but its a protective covering).I never drive the car in the rain so the top is always down except when stored. It has the wide white wall bias ply tires and they are in excellent shape- I would estimate 90% tread remains. I have owned the car 2 years and enjoyed it but now its time to let her go and get something new. The car appears to have beenrestored several years ago but has held up as it has been cared for well. I feel the car is a solid 3 ( a driver) on a scale of 1-5. NADA guide prices the car's average retail at $45,700 and Hagerty prices the value at $39,549. The VIN# is B9UR704217.
This is a no reserve auction so bid to win as the high bidder will get the car. I will not stop the auction as I need to sell the car. Please call before you bid if you have any questions 281-917-0023 Mike.
I take paypal onlyand do not sell out of the USA due to scams. PS-this car is over 47years old and not a trailer queen so it will have small imperfections. its not a number 1 or 2 car.
