The 308 combined concepts and design features from both the 246 Dino and the 365, with the ability to move more precisely and swiftly than any of its contemporaries. Historically the 308/208 series was groundbreaking for Ferrari as they were the first production cars to wear the prancing horse during production and featuring a mid-engine layout; ever since, the majority of Ferrari's offerings have conformed to this same engine configuration.
An excellent avenue into the elite world of Ferrari Ownership
The 308 GT4 here, chassis 10158 was completed in February of 1975 and sold new to Mr. Howard Imhoff through famed Ferrari dealership Algar of Philadelphia, optioned with electric windows, radio, air conditioning and highly prized 7.5 inch Campagnolo (chairs and flairs) wheels. Originally wearing silver paintwork, the car was tastefully changed years later to the current Boxer trim (matching the GT4 brochure car), while the original Camel leather upholstery remains. Correct wool carpeting was freshened not so long ago. This GT4 appears to have never received a restoration, but rather regular upkeep as meticulously documented in a large dossier of records, registrations and documentation. Additionally, the Ferrari is complete with all original books, guides, consumer cards, workshop manuals, history, tools and spare tire. A recent 2016 major service included full timing belts service, carburetors rebuild, transmission fully serviced, all new fluids engine oil filter, transmission and coolant, new oil lines from oil cooler to engine, new air filter, new drive belts, new clutch, and new spark plugs making this GT4 an excellent performer and great driver ready example.
This well-equipped and documented early U.S. market model is not only an outstanding example of the model, but an excellent avenue into the elite world of Ferrari ownership for both the novice collector and longtime enthusiast.
