Let’s turn back the clock to the 1950s when visions of Audrey Hepburn in Rome on a Vespa made her an Oscar winner and Fiat dominated the market for economy-minded buyers. They charmed people into buying their cars with cute styling and willing engines. The Fiat 600 Multipla, as introduced as a station wagon version of the 600, nd it was intended to multiply the flexibility of the 600 for the family or as a small commercial vehicle. It was designed around a rear-mounted, ater-cooled engine. Because of this layout, iat made some bold decisions like rear hinged front doors, arge side doors and well, aking it look like a little VW Kombi. It became an icon throughout Europe.
Our Fiat Multipla 600 is a station wagon version used exclusively to carry people. It was totally restored by the previous owner of 15 years. All of the materials used in the restoration appear to be appropriate and remain in very good condition. This is the Sport version that does not have jump seats and the seats do fold down. The Multipla is in excellent mechanical condition. The motor number matches the data plate and performs very nicely, oving the Multipla down the road at close to 55mph! The interior is very good and the gauges were recently restored by Palo Alto Speedometer in California.
We consider this Multipla to be in fine "driver condition". It was restored with the intention to be enjoyed and not shown on the lawn at Pebble Beach. Therefore special emphasis was placed on mechanical reliability. With that said, ou should make room for all of the popular voting awards you will undoubtedly receive at local car shows.
