Description

1984 Pininfarina Azzura Spider
This car was one of my unicorns; I had one as a young adult that was this same color combination. About a year ago I thought I would start looking but these cars are difficult to find and then I had to have it in the Azzuro Metallic and Buckskin Interior to make it worse. Most were white/black or red/tan; but I was going to hold out for what I had owned. Early this year I found this car and contacted the owner who had it since 2007 and he purchased from what I remember was the original owner or someone that had for a very long time. The car had not been driven much and he had listed the car; then took it down, listed the car then took it down. I told him my story and he agreed to sell it to me; knowing it would go to a good owner and someone that would drive it.
Well, in the lengthy amount of time it took to get the car acquired and then shipped from North Carolina; I found my even larger Unicorn, a 1966 21 Window VW Bus. So,unfortunatelythe car that I had been looking for a long time needs to go to a new owner as I need a large amount of money to get this Bus 100% Original. The gentlemen I purchased the car from will not be happy with me; that is why I am listing oneBayknowing it will go to a good home.
Here are some things about the car.
Good
  • New 2-stage paint in original Azzuro Metallic. No body work was needed as surface was rust and dent free. Looks amazing!
  • Very Original Condition; always stored indoors so all trim, weather stripping is in good condition
  • Has Air Conditioning and all is in place - See below for what you should know
  • New Battery
  • All Gauges work
  • CARFAX states car has not been in an Accident - I can email to you if you ask for CARFAX
  • Everything is there; not missing any parts or trim that I can see
  • Has original convertible top cover
  • Come with very rare Pininfarina OEM Convertible Top Protector - See Pics
  • Has Original Owners manual, Window Sticker, Tool Kit with power window emergency crank.
  • Original spare tire with Jack
  • New Vinyl Top - has two minor rips on outside (see pics)
What you should know
  • Passenger Side mirror is cracked and a smaller size stick on mirror is covering - see pictures
  • Clock does not display
  • Radio does not seem to work - did not explore to see if just not hooked up
  • Air Conditioning seems to work when driving but the fan does not engage. You can hear the compressor kick on.
  • Power windows go up and down.....very slowly like every other Italian car. This is not a problem with the windows, they all do it.
  • Tires are in good condition; I would replace. Ididn'tbecause a friend stated that someone may want to add 15" wheels.
  • If sold in California, I do not have a smog certificate.
  • North Carolina Title is clear in Previous Owners Name.

I have a brand new (see pic) Ansa Exhaust for the car that I didn't install in case a purist purchases. It will not come with the car but you can purchase for what I paid for it which was $300. I will even have installed for you if you would like. Car is sold where is, as is and I described to the best of my ability. No warranties have been suggested or implied. I think this is an amazing car that you will enjoy for many years; it needs to be shown off and driven. Good Luck.
