Description

Selling a beautiful 1980 Fiat Spider.Overall in great shape. Previous owner was a mechanic and had the car for over 20 years. Over those years he took immense care for this car and did lots of work to it.I have paperwork over $5000 of repairs. Even transmission was rebuilt in 2009. Car was originally from California owned by a Fiat enthusiast. Always garaged. Well maintained and loved throughout the years. Recently had a tune up within the past few month, which included new gas lines, new battery, new spark plugs, cleaned out the gas tank, distributer cap adjusted, fuel pump adjusted, and rewired the ecu. Fires right up now. Truly a joy to drive. Shifts smoothly and fast like the Italian sports car it was meant to be. Brakes are good. Suspension is very tight, corners like it is on rails. Clutch is in great shape. Doesn't seem to leak or burn any oil or fluids.Engine and exhaust sound good.
Body is in great shape and straight. No body damage or major dents. Few rust spots, but frame appears solid (see pictures). Newer paint job looks good - I believe this is an original factory spec color. Most of the electronics seem to work fine. Speedo was replaced and reads 23k, but I believe it is over 100k, exact milage is unknown.Roll bar installed for extra safety. Back seat was removed for this, but I still have some of the rear cushion. Newer vinyl top closes easily. Aftermarket sounds system is great. Tires and wheels are in great shape. Engine fan has been rewired, it was not working for a little bitm which caused engine to slightly overheat, but that no longer seems to be an issue because the fan kicks on as soon as you turn the key. Also sometimes it is a little tricky getting into reverse, but just takes a little extra effort. Otherwise seems to drive and handle just fine.Car is in great shape for its age. Drive a classic Italian sports car, styled by Pininfarina. These cars only appreciate in value as the years go on. This one is a ton of fun to drive, truly feels like the sports car it was meant to be.
Here is a list of some of the work done and upgrades:
June 2016:
New battery, spark plugs and fuel lines
Gas tank cleaned outEcu rewired
May/June of 2014:
$900 worth of repairs - brakes and brake lines all done.
new convertible top
other work done and upgrades:
roll bar - $300
aftermarket radio and speakers
new radiator
e-brake
speedo cable
tie rods
sway bar bushings
lower control arms
suspension springs
brake lines
This is a really lovely Italian sports car that is extremely fun to drive, but it is also 36 years old, so it is not right off the factory floor. Please ask any questions or come have a mechanic/friend/yourself, see the car in person before bidding. We have been as honest as possible, but we are not mechanics. Please do not bid, if you do not intend on purchasing the car. Title is clean. Lots of paperwork from previous repairs are included, as well as some extra small parts that we put in the trunk. Non-refundable deposit of $400 is due within 48 hours. Remaining amount payment will be paid via bank transfer, certified check or cash in person. Car will not be released until full payment has cleared. Shipping arrangements are buyer's responsibility but we are happy to assist.
