The Fiat Multipla was introduced in the spring of 1956 and was based on the Fiat 600’s drive train being designed by Dante Giacosa, genius at designing the compact vehicle. The 600 Multipla was the people carrier version & could carry up to 8 people so were popular with Italian Taxi drivers. The Multipla changed very little between 1956 and 1966 when production ended. In 1960 the engine size increased from 633cc to 767cc upping the bhp from 21.5 to 29, his model became the 600D as the example offered for sale here. The gearbox was a 4 speed with synchromesh on all gears except first. Top speed became 65mph and returned an average of around 38 mpg. Production numbers were 76871 for the 600 and 83389 for the 600D. They were the first ever MPV’s that we all know & take for granted today!
This cheeky chappie is great fun & the best tightest driving 600 variant we have ever offered without exception. These models are ever increasing in value & a good Multipla is not only a pleasure to drive but a great investment opportunity. Description
Fiat 600D Multipla MPV Classic / LHD / 1963 / 38K Miles Warranted / 3 Italian Owners From New / ASI Passport / Time Warp -Unique Investment Opportunity @ $36,000. We are truly privileged to offer to the market this original time warp & highly desirable Fiat 600D Multipla, 1963 model being a genuine LHD example & a 6 seater (Taxi) configuration, etaining it’s original 767cc engine. It has a warranted mileage of only 38,880 miles from new & has only had 3 Italian owners from new. The current Italian long term owner ‘Sonia’ has resided over this vehicle from 1995, he is a classic car enthusiast & has used this charming little Multipla very sparingly over the last 20 years & mainly for club outings in the last 8. Infact she stated that she had very rarely been caught out in the rain & the car has been correctly stored in her well ventilated garage. She only decided to part with it due to the rising Multipa prices & interest in the model around the world! This stunning vehicle is an ASI (Automoto Club Storico Italiano) registered example & comes complete with its ASI passport stamped & signed by the ASI president. This means the vehicle has never been restored or modified & is as it left the factory in 1963. It resided with Sonia for the last 20 years tucked away in her garage in Maserada Sul Piave, hich is a commune in the province of Treviso (where the vehicle was first registered), n the Italian region of Veneto, ocated about 35 KM north of Venice. We have copious pictures of it there prior to being loaded outside of her house into a closed transporter ready for its journey to our shores, here it’s now ready for UK or US registration, aving been UK MOT’d. The vehicle looks 100% original, as all original panels, nterior, otor etc & has the chassis number: 113106 with the matching original engine. It is a true time warp example that must surely be one of the most unique in the world. I have been dying to find an example like this since I went to the Goodwood Revival last summer & we were taken around the circuit in a Multipla taxi, hey use them normally at the Revival to transport VIPs around! I fell in love there & then & have been literally hunting the globe to find good ones since. Not only is the mileage warranted by the owner on this example, he vehicle is totally original & unrestored, ence unmolested. The only works to have been conducted Sonia tells us was a full external repaint in the original period colours to an exceptional standard in 1995, hen she purchased this charming example & prior to her getting it Automotoclub Storico Italiano registered the same year. There is a beautiful picture of it after the repaint in the ASI passport & looks very fresh & pleasing to the eye. The panel fit is excellent, ll the floors and panels look correct & are all in excellent structural condition, hus this must surely be one of the most honest examples that still exist. She also confirmed that she has kept up the regular diligent maintenance regime from the previous owner & there is a small log in the little history booklet & recent invoice. The engine is the original unit, tarts on the button & drives without fault. Being the later 1963 model the engine size is 767cc rather than the earlier 633cc example which is underpowered especially if you are carrying 6 or more people! What you see with this unique example is what you get. Nothing has been covered up or patched up over the years. So as such it has very light patina commensurate with its age which makes it all the more honest & lovable. You could actually use this example for every day use, ransportation to the Revival, r as a contender at classic car shows & be proud of it in any circumstance. The history file that accompanies this vehicle contains, talian Carta Di Circolazione Per Autovettura, blue original log book), riginal Italian Automobile Club D’Italia Certificato Di Proprietra, SI (Automoto Club Storico Italiano) Membership & signed passport, SI regulations book, Current UK MOT, aintenance log & invoice, pecialist parts invoices, etails of Club rallies attended, opious detailed photos showing car in Italy located at Sonia’s residence, lub details… Since being in our possession we have been meticulous in our preparation of this unique vehicle undertaking the following works: Fitted a new set of quality Italian matching tyres with fresh white wall bands, epainted the 5 steel wheels in period correct avorio & fitted new hub caps. Fitted a new chrome wing mirror, ew complete exhaust system with gaskets. Overhauled the brakes & flushed & bled the system, itted new windscreen wiper blades, verhauled the carb, ew coil, oints, otor arm along with all service items, uel filter, ir filter, GK Plugs, ils, luids, remium unleaded fuel & keyring etc. New ashtray & sun visors fitted along with the period correct decal kit. The vehicle has also been professionally valeted including the engine bay & machine polished, t presents perfectly. We even have a period correct full roof rack as shown in the pictures should the new owner desire for those weekends away! Find another with this low mileage, ow ownership & as original, t’s only being offered for sale for the fourth time in its life to date! Period Fiat azzurro (light blue) under avorio (ivory) paintwork, ith the original abbronzatura (tan) over avorio period interior, ncluding original matching door cards with the original black plastic full floor coverings still in place! Fresh MOT with NO advisories. Free historic road tax. Keys on Fiat 500 key ring, pare wheel & brace along with the original jack & tools. Original Fiat steel wheels freshly finished in period avorio to complement the upper body & shod with brand new matching quality Italian tyres. We have a choice of 2 Multipla’s in stock, he other being finished in ivory over period correct light green. Also a 1963, 67cc example & in picnic configuration.
