Description

This roadster is all about style, unction, nd fun. We drive it almost every suitable weekend. But the attention to details also allowed us to show it often in 2015. In ALL shows entered, e took 1st place and one Best of Show (225+ quality cars). Recently, t Autorama Houston, t took 1st place in Altered Roadster class and a prestigious ISCA’s “Outstanding Engineered” award. Zippers do not come up for sale often and those of this quality are especially rare. Look closely. Many judges and spectators certainly have.

· The body, hassis, nd many components were designed and fabricated by Darrell Zipp. He is a well-respected 40-year rod builder and former owner of Zipper Motors of Utah. The 1927 style modified cab coupled with the 1933 style front end is the perfect combo. The frame is fully powder coated and matches the Viper Red body. Split, lanted 2-piece windshield. Front hood pivots forward for engine access. Suicide doors close with thump and havepositive latches.

· Super Bell front end. Polished or chromed from wheel to wheel. 4-bar. Bullet disc covers. Wilwood disc brakes. Braided lines. Custom machined friction shocks. Half leaf suspension. Vintage Wheels with spinners.

· Custom-built, ullypolished aluminum radiator with fully polished shroud and high CFM electric fan. Controlled by fully adjustable speed control instead of fixed thermostat sensor. Custom overflow tank.

· 350 SBC motor with internal upgrades. Edelbrock intake manifold with Holley 4-barrel. Estimated approx. 400hp in an approx. 1900lb car. Mooneyes accessories, SD ignition, ainlesswiring harness. Custom headers and exhaust. Clean and strong. No leaks

· 700r4 (late model) auto transmission. Shifts smoothly. Lokar shifter. No leaks.

· Custom drive shaft links to a FANTASTIC Winters quick change rear end. 4-bar with Corvette style axles. Inboard discs and Wilwood braking. Full leaf and friction shocks. Custom HD mounting brackets. Polished or chromed from wheel to wheel. Currently mild street ratio. Another set of unused gears (2) in case come with car. This is a real highlight of the car. One spectator commented, Look, oney, t has a motor in the back too.” Does that make it a “hybrid”? Suspension is surprisingly comfortable and rear end is not noisy like a Jaguar.

· Two aluminum fuel cells have 16gal total capacity. Car gets approx. 16mpg city. Electric fuel pump.

· Tan interior and comfortable lo-profile seat padding. Stewart Warner full gauges retro style. Black carpet with mats. Approach to interior is more simple and uncluttered. Quick release steering wheel. Chromed and bullet period style mirrors. Lokar gas and Wilwood brake pedals.

· Top. I have all hardware to complete a rag top. Only minimal upholstery work would be needed. The rear knurled bullet knobs holds the folding, win-bow assembly which is powder coated. A “moustache” frame attaches to the split windshield. It is shaped like a mini visor and made of heavy fiberglass and metal. No one bothered to finish a top as it would require drilling the rear body for snaps. But it could be tastefully done if desired. I also have a design I worked out for a removable hardtop I can share. Would really add to the existing coolness lines of the car.

· I went to great lengths to title and register this car properly and make it easier for the next owner. It is titled in Texas as a “1929 Ford Roadster-Replica” (they mistyped 1927). It is plated as a Texas “Street Rod”. The car was fully inspected by the Texas Auto Crime Prevention Task Force for stolen components and the individual component serial numbers are now properly associated with the car. It has been safety inspected by an ASE Master Technician and is fully compliant and legal in all regards according to Texas law. The master VIN number is based upon a previous California frame tag that still exists. In California, he car was previously exempt. Insurance is cheaper than my regular cars.

This car is fun. It turns heads everywhere we go, nd sparks conversations and picture taking every time we stop. It can just cruise or light up the night if you have the nerve. Life is short and nothing is forever. Sale is only being considered to fund another life-long project I need to do while I can.

I will assist with shipping and can recommend quality and reasonable transport I have used before. Bidders with <10 transactions or not perfect rating; contact me before bidding. $2k non-refundable deposit within 48hrs and full payment before car leaves my possession. Reserve the right to end auction early if sold locally.

Bid and buy with confidence. Ask questions and I will respond. ”Tanks” for looking.
