1960 Ford F100 Short Bed
Rust Free Southern CA Truck
Black Plate CA Truck
I have attached 82 images of the truck to this ad that should load and be viewable. If for some reason they are not loading or the pictures are taking awhile to load you can view all of them by accessing my Photobucket album by copying and pasting the link below into your web browser. http://s464.photobucket.com/user/ryanshary/library/1960 Ford F100 My goal with this truck was to create a fun reliable driver that would receive plenty of recognition as it drives down the road. The truck is just that. Its not perfect however it is a very attractive driver that has all original metal and is a rust free Southern California truck. These trucks were often used and abused however this one has seem to withstand the test of time with all of its original metal rust free. This is truly a great little truck that has been worked through completely. Mechanically this truck is sound and will be very reliable for many years to come. Rides wonderfully down the road and is a real pleasure to drive and is sure to receive thumbs up everywhere it goes. The body of the truck is all the original metal and is a true Southern California Rust Free vehicle. All the gaps fit very well for one of these older trucks. There are no signs of the truck ever being whacked or in an accident as everything appears to be straight. The body while good, s not perfect. It is a truck and as such when the body work was done it was not done to showroom quality. There are some dings and bumps that are common for any old truck that was used the way a truck is meant to be used. The lines are very straight however and there are no rust spots. The paint is about a year old and really gives the truck that cool classic look. The paint quality is not that of a show car but is appropriate for the truck and looks very good. The old metal floor of the bed has been replaced with a custom crafted teak and holly wood floor. The combination of the teak and holly give it a unique look reminiscent of an old Chris Craft boat. The shade of the wood really pops against the color of the truck. I can honestly say that the bed of this truck aesthetically, s my favorite I have seen. The frame and underbody have been completely restored and it shows. The frame is exceptional and has been coated with a black chassis paint. The new exhaust has been installed very cleanly and gives the truck a cool understated sound. The brakes have been replaced and stops well despite the lack of power brakes. The wheels have been recently powder coated cream and look great against the wide white wall tires. The tires have very low miles on them and the white walls are still very bright and haven’t yellowed. The American Classic radial white walls give the truck the cool classic look of white wall tires with the ride and grip of a modern tire. Really not a lot of play in the steering and doesn’t wander like many of these older trucks tend to do. Out of all the classic trucks I have driven this one seems to be the most effortless. The engine bay has been completely refurbished and has a real clean look. The engine runs great and starts quickly even when cold. The old straight six has great torque and is still very strong. The engine has never had any over heating problems. I have installed a Pertronix Electronic Ignition so there will be no need to deal with the old school points that can be a real hassle. The three speed column shift transmission shifts with ease and stays in gear. Mechanically this truck is exceptional. She will start up and drive well every time without giving you any problems. Since I have completed this truck it has been very reliable and fun to own. The interior of the truck has been redone as well. The bench seat is newly refurbished in white vinyl and is very comfortable with plenty of support. The headliner has been replaced and fits well. The dash has been sprayed to match the bumper and grill and is smooth and straight. All the gauges work however they have not been replaced and have some patina. The doors have been sprayed and are in good condition with all of the components working such as the lock and door handles. The original vent windows have been removed and replaced with a custom one-piece window that cranks up and down with ease. The original heater box under the dash works and blows air. The light interior is striking and pops against the color of the truck. The only two things left to do to complete the interior and make it perfect are to replace/repair the existing steering wheel as it has cracked and to install a radio if you desire to do so. This has been a wonderful truck to own and enjoy. This would be a great truck for someone who wants to take it out and enjoy it without having to worry about wear and tear and mechanical issues. While it is not a show car it really is stunning and has always been a show stopper anywhere I go. This is a great opportunity to own a lovely truck that will fill you with nothing but enjoyment.
