When I got in to the classic car business 10 years ago I never thought that the first generation Ford Broncos would be a vehicle that I would be drawn to. Well, bout 4 years ago I bought my first one when a guy with a '65 Mustang Fastback offered me his as part of a package deal. After driving that Bronco I was hooked and evidently I was not alone as these Early Ford Broncos have become one of the hottest categories in the collector car market place. Since that time I have owned about 50, 967-1977 Ford Broncos. Some have been completely original, ncut and others have been cut, nd modified for a more aggressive and rugged look. This particular 1977 Ford Bronco stands heads and shoulders above most....literally and figuratively. It is definitely one of my all time favorites for several reasons. First of all, t is the final year production model of the first gen broncos so it has some nice factory upgrades and features. Next, his Bronco has lived a great life that is well documented. It was purchased in Jasper, A and I have the original sales invoice. It appears to have been sold to another GA owner in 1986 and then in 2001 was sold to a gentleman in PA who enjoyed the Bronco for years and then decided to give it the restoration it deserved and decided to take this original, ust free Bronco up a few notches and build the Bronco of his dreams. Unfortunately his health deteriorated and he was barely able to drive and enjoy the Bronco. Another Bronco enthusiast in PA bought it about 2 years ago and took it up another notch finishing out the lift kit and suspension. There has only been about 1000 miles put on it since it was completed and the previous owner, ho had owned several Broncos, old me it was just too nice to drive on a regular basis and he lost his company car and needed to buy a an everyday driver so the Bronco had to go. Well, nbsp;unfortunate for him but super lucky for the next owner....maybe you???! This Bronco looks as good, f not better, n person!!! I know first hand that this is not always the case and with the popularity of these first gen Broncos there are plenty of "quick flip, ipstick on a pig" type Broncos on the market. This Pewter gray, ifted beauty is at the opposite end of the spectrum and truly stands out among the others!! It is also nicely loaded up with a built 351W V8 Stroker motor, utomatic, ower steering, ower front disc brakes, hard top, oll bar, ikini top, nbsp;stereo and more!! I will do my best to provide enough large images, video of the Bronco starting up and running, nd an honest description so you can decide if this is the one you have been waiting for. As with all of my classics I have this Bronco listed on my website as well as several other national classic car sites. Therefore, f you decide this is the one for you feel free to call me to discuss how we can make that happen before the next car guy or gal scoops it up. Sit back and enjoy!
By the way, ou will notice another super nice, edium green metallic, ncut Early Bronco in a few pics that will be going on the market soon as well. Feel free to contact me for more info on it if that is more your speed.
As I mentioned, his sweet '77 Bronco started its life in Georgia and lived there until 2001. Apparently it was a rust free, xtremely well cared for Bronco and had its original paint and body when it was acquired by an enthusiast in PA. It was born a copper colored, port model with the special decor group and white tape stripe option. It was a good lookingoriginal Bronco and I have a pic of itfrom the second owner. The original paint was wearing thin and the original motor was tired even though it had only about 66,000 original miles on it. The guy who bought it was a real Bronco Enthusiast and preferred the flared fender, oreaggressive look so he had a professional shop strip the Broncodown and repainted in a sweet Pewter Gray color, ut the rear fenders and added fender flares, ustom front and rear bumpers, olished rocker panel trim and some custompin striping to really make this Bronco the unique classic SUV that it is today. Thepin striping is all vinyl tape so it could be removed if desired but I will say that it has really grown on me and looks fantastic. As you will see in the pics below the body and paint is gorgeous and is show quality. Body panels are amazingly straight and body fit of the original panels is just like it was in 1977. The doors line up great when shut which is a common issue with the early broncos. All of the Sport package chrome trim and emblems look great. All of the weatherstripping was replaced and looks great. Glass is all in greatcondition and a nice tint was added. I removed the hard top and you will see anawesome 4 point roll bar and brand new bikini top were added for some wind in your hair, unny day fun! You will have a hard time finding a Bronco with this nice of a body!! The body is truly near flawless, owever there may be a few extremely tiny chips, r other minor flaw I may have missed. Take my word, t is heads and shoulders above the others on the market and shouts quality everywhere you look. Here is a photo tour of the body:
Living in the Atlanta, a area I love driving these Early Broncos with the hard top off and think they look better that way. However, his Pewter Gray beauty looks as good with its hard top on as it does with it off. The hard top was painted body color and has the chrome trim around the windows that came with the Sport package. The windows are all tinted. Italso has a new headliner and windshield wiper motor cover. Unfortunately there is a small scratch on the top of the hard top caused by my enclosed transporter that has been touched up and really cannot be seen since the truck stands so tall. Here is a group of pics so you can see how great it looks with the top on as well:
Open the door and climb inside this gorgeous Bronco and you will find a black interior that compliments the pewter gray exterior beautifully. It is pretty much stock with the exception of a nice aftermarket steering wheel that is smaller then stock for easier turning. There has also been a very nice JVC am/fm/cd player added with speakers in the front kick panels and in the custom rear carpeted interior panels. A center console was also added with cup holders and storage. The original front seats look great and were recovered at the time of restoration. They have a silver piping around the edges and show almost no wear. The original rear seat looks great. Dash pad is like new. Remote drivers side mirror is stock original. A very nice carpet kit was installed throughout the cab area. Front seat belts are installed and we do have a set of rear seat belts that can be installed if desired. All of the gauges and lights appear to be functioning correctly. An aftermaket tach has been mounted on the steering column. Have a look inside:
At the time of restoration, he gentleman from PA decided that rather then rebuild the tired original 302 V8 he preferred to have a 351W built for some added performance and horsepower. He had the motor bored and stroked out to a 408 cubic inch with a nice comp cam, indsor Junior heads, delbrock 4bbl, eramic coated headers, nd other great components. The motor has really just been broken in with only about 1000 miles since it was installed. It fires right up and has plenty of power but keep in mind this is still a 4WD Bronco so it is not a high horsepower stop light to stop light racer. It pulls strong and perhaps even better cruises at any speed very nicely. The 351W is mated to the original automatic transmission that was rebuilt as well. Power steering and power front disc brakes make handling and stopping a breeze. The gentleman I bought the Bronco from had owned quite a few Broncos and decided he wanted this one to stand up tall. He installed some great suspension and body lift products from James Duff. It has the 3 1/2" ultimate suspension lift kit and 2" body lift and long arm kit. It was done right, ncluding the correct drop pitman arm. The result is a great stance and a Bronco that still handles the road very nicely even at highway speeds. To finish off the stance a great set of 15"x10" ultra nomad wheels were wrapped in Mickey Thompson 35x12.5x15 Baja Claw rubber that are like new. This Bronco not only runs fantastic but it also sounds awesome thanks to the dual thrush mufflers and exhaust. This Bronco still has both the main andauxiliary fuel tanks that are both hooked up. The engine bay has been nicely dressed out and you will be proud to pop the hood at any show or event. As you will see in the pics the engine bay was painted to match the exterior and is super clean and has plenty of originality still. The undercarriage also looks fantastic and was nicely detailed and lightly undercoated. Floorpans are rock solid. This Bronco truly runs and drives as good as it looks!! Make sure you listen to the video that follows the pics to hear this Bronco start up and running!!!
It is always rare to find a classic car with original documentation. This '77 Bronco will come with some great documentation that will add to its collectibility and value as the years go buy.I have the original dealer invoice from Jasper, A and original warranty card tag. Various other paperwork showing the chain of ownership. Original owners manual. Receipts for the engine build and other components recently added will all be included.
