Description

For sale is a piece of history, real deal 1932 ford 5 window coupe built in 1957... This is not a rat rod but a real survivor with documented history and photos back to 1957. The Deuce Coupe offered here is a Hemi-equipped hot rod. Jim Kroll of Ohio, he car's previous owner, ompiled its well-documented and detailed history. Glen "Rudy" Rudisill, nd his father, uilt the car in 1957 in York, A, or Laverne A. Stetzer. The car arrived at the shop in pieces and was assembled with hands-on input from "Stetz." The five-window body was channeled over the frame with all metal work, ncluding the filled-in top, erformed by Rudisill, tilizing the old lead method. Finished in GM Bahama Blue Metallic, he hotrod attitude was achieved with a '49 Mercury dash, ycle fenders, ord brakes and a '52 Chrysler 331 cubic inch Hemi engine. Having invested about $10,000 in his hot rod (a considerable sum in 1957) Stetz sold his car to Bill Roush of Violet Hills. During the 30 years Roush owned the car, e performed a certain degree of engine work, lthough the car continually remained in dry storage for 26 years. Karl Nischwitz, former drag racer, nd 50 year member of the Motor Menders Club, cquired the car in the early 1990s and after considerable mechanical work, rought the car back to proper running order. He sold the car in 1996 and the blue Deuce Coupe passed through a documented succession of owners, ll in PA, efore it made its way to Ohio where Jim Kroll compiled its well-researched history in 2007. As for its alleged racing history, timing slip accompanying the car indicates a running at the US 30 Drag Strip in the early 70s. Additionally, winner's sticker on the quarter windows indicates a Class Win at the same drag way. The hot rod benefits from remarkable originality - from the paint that Rudy applied in 1957 to the engine and original seat upholstery. Its history has been sustained by period photography and by an unbroken chain of owners.
