Up for bid is a 1976 "Elite". Its basically a sub set model for the Gran Torino. See description below and look it up. The body is in excellent shape, o apparent rust besides some surface underneath, o dents and seems to be free of any bondo or body work as far as we can tell but we are not professionals. It looks to have original paint, umpers, erfect glass, tainless steel, as working A/C. Newer gas tank and dual exhaust system. Fresh carburator rebuild. The vinyl top needs replacing. High end rims and tires with lots of tread left, nside is in good shape for being 40, ith signs of wear and tear. Everthing seems to work as far as we can tell but not the radio. Runs and drives! I just put in a new high performance distributor, ont think we got the timing perfect but close (not a real mechanic). The engine has a small ticking noise since we put in the new distributor but not sure what it is. Also I believe the brakes need bled, hey work great after you pump them up once. It needs a mechanics touch. I also can't verify if the engine is the original or not. The valve covers have orginal sticker saying 351 so?? Only has 58,000 original miles on it with a CLEAN Box A title, hich means verified original mileage. Please ask all questions before bidding, lso feel free to have it inspected. Car is for sale "as is" with noguarantee or refunds, ust be paid for in full withen 48 hours of auction end. Car mast be picked up withen 10 days of auction end. I am not an expert and tried to descibe the car as best as Icould.
Hate to see it go. You will never find another in this condition! Needs a good home I have too many projects and need the cash to finish others.
Some Background information: "The Elite started out in 1974 as a subset model of the Torino. Although in advertising it stood out from the rest of the Torino line, t was still considered a Torino - hence why a title or registration would state "Gran Torino" and the side emblem scripting said "Gran Torino Elite" The Elite made a debut on it's own in 1975-1976. It was a separate car line and sold very, ery well. Elites came with many items standard that only the Gran Torino Brougham's and other top Torinos came with optionally. High-level interior, T instrument cluster, /C, nd power everything were all items found on most Elites."
