This is a 50 year old truck that is from Vancouver Island that I really wanted to keep. They have verylittle snow on the islandand so don't use salt on the roads and so very little rust on their cars/trucks. It is one of the most original trucks I've seen and was used very little by its previous owners along with being garaged/shedded or covered.
The defects that I noticed would include minor rust (a bodyman looked at the 4 main spots and told me they could be easily repaired - they are all on the door jams and cab) but I would think that the color matching may be difficult and so the whole truck may need to be painted. The inside of the box did have a spray liner done to it but this could be improved. The chrome on the truck is all there but some of the black paint on the chromecould be redone. This is not currently a show truck but could easily become one - very hard to find the F250 Ranger Camper Special trucks anymore - especially one that is so original.
This truck has some really interesting options including the FORD-branded spot lights on each side and a premium interior (including all the original knobs, arpet and lots of interior chrome) and the premium outside chrome package which is all intact. The inside liner and sunvisorsof the truck was upgraded with some fancier upholstery work. The seat is immaculate and so is the floor carpeting.
THIS IS A CANADIAN TRUCK BUT BECAUSE OF IT'S AGE THESPEEDOMETER IS IN MILES- IT HAS42,136 IS MILES. I live in Alberta, anada and the truck is originally from British Columbia, anada. I don't know much history because the previous owner had Alzheimer's and couldn't remember much any longer.
It also comes with the nice turbine mags and tires with approx. 70% tread left on them.
Lights all work except the FORD-branded spot lights - it's possible that I just can't find the switch. The windshield wipers work. The glass is all good - one small star in the windshield which I believe can be removed by a certified windshield tech. Mechanically the truck starts and runs and shifts well through the gears. One of the brakes are leaking a bit of fluid but as long as this is topped up there are no issues. You could likely drive the truck anywhere and I believe it does have the original 42,000 miles.
The reserve is $10,000 as it's an awesome truck for someone's collection. Please don't bid if you don't intend to pay as I need the money due to our Alberta economy going into the dumps thanks to oil going down so much lately. I guess food is more important than a truck.
