Paint job about 2 years old. Prior owner completed paint and interior work. Very nice shade of blue with a grey tweed interior - also new.
Original steel body.
3 speed manual transmission with floor shifter.
Flathead V8 engine. The engine is a late 40s/early 50s flathead - not the original 37. I know the water pumps are those used in a 51 Mercury so the flathead may be a 51. What people tell me is that I have a 50/51 block with early style heads. The heads have the water neck cast into the center of the head. The distributor is on passenger side front of the engine. So essentially late block with early heads. ~100hp
Converted to 12V electrical system - complete new wire harness, lternator, tc.
Ignition switch has been installed in the dash - you do not start the car using the key/button on the steering column.
Brand new wide white wall bias ply tires (see pic in the garage. there is another photo highlighting the rims, ut it has one of the old tires on it)
Still has the original wheels, echanical brakes, teering wheel and instrument gauges (some work and some do not)Original radio still in the car. Includes under dash speaker and hardware.
New water pump, lugs, ires.
Carb rebuilt
New rear shocks
Radiator completely rebuilt with 4 core cooling.
Electric fan with new relay
New Petronix electronic ignition
Brakes professionally done.
Not seen in these pictures:New chrome door mirrors for both sides.New window felts
New covers on running boards
So many of these cars have been modified/hot rodded. This is a nice reminder of what the originals were like with a few enhancements to improve comfort and reliability for driving today. Starts right up, uns great and can be driven where you want to go!
