Up for sale is a 1979 Ford Mustang "Fox body" hatchback. 2.3 4-cylinder, 3 automatic transmission. Runs and drives well. No smoke. Goes down the road straight as an arrow. The color is called Jade Green metallic, nd is quite a rare color. No rust. There is a small dent in the hatch. Car was off the road from 1992 until about 2014. It has brand-new Good Year tires and recent shocks, ull tuneup including plugs, lug wires, ap and rotor, uel filter, il pressure sending unit (replaced due to leaking) all factory Motorcraft parts. Air filter was also replaced with a Purolator filter, oolant flush with Prestone coolant, il changed with Mobil 1 synthetic oil and Mobil 1 oil filter. Brand new updated fuel tank. New fuel pump and new thermostat. This car is a base model, t does not have factory air conditioning. It does, owever, ave power steering and power brakes. The car is 100% original. It has about 66,000 original miles. It has all paperwork since new including the owners card, indow sticker, tc. The car will need a tailpipe, nd the flywheel to be replaced. It has a dead spot on the flywheel. It only lands on the dead spot once in a while. When it does, pop the hood, nd turn the fan slightly clockwise and it starts right up. A brand new replacement flywheel will be included. I also have 3 yards of the original interior hounds tooth fabric for the car as well. The fabric is not a reproduction or a match, t is the factory original material. I will also include some other new parts with the car such as a brand-new, ld stock, ood emblem and ignition module, ear axle cover gasket, nd trans service kit, ome hoses, nd carburetor rebuild kit. We have the clear title for this car.
The car could benefit from a carburetor adjustment or rebuild. It is a little bit sluggish when started cold, ut it being carbureted, his is common. Once warmed up, t is fine. It starts up instantly in any temperature though. The front bumper/clip "sags" when it gets wet. This was apparently a common issue on the early Foxes. When it dries out, t pretty much goes back to its original shape. Pictures were taken after several days of rain since I could not catch a break. We were going to remove it, ry it out, nd seal it with primer. That never happened. The car was built 10/1978, o it is a fairly early build, nd falls into the category of "the bumpers with issues."
