Up for this auction is a very fine old 1946 Ford Super Deluxe 2-door sedan. Following the end of the war when the new cars came out, his was the most popular car and body style from Ford. I bought the car from a fellow that had owned the car for many years and his wife had named it "Betty". The car is powered by the original good running flathead inline six cylinder engine (100 horsepower) and column mounted three speed transmission. The little jewel idles so quietly that you cannot tell the car is running. I didn't get around to detailing the engine compartment but it will clean up good. The car is mostly original and I suspect that it was restored sometime in its past, robably the seventies judging by the interior. It has a radio and heater and both work good. All the body panels fit good and all the glass is good other than a crack in the drivers side wing window and a crack in one of the gauge glasses. All the trim is in good condition as are the bumpers. The body is very sound with several small areas where it looks like there could be some rust under the paint (check out the photos). There are several small dents/chips on the body (also shown in the photos). This car drives great down the road and draws a lot of attention wherever we happen to be. The tires are 650-16” Firestone wide whites. The tread looks like new but they are older tires and there is some small checking on the sides. Probably good for driving around town but not for cruising highway speeds on the interstate. I am posting as many photos on this listing as I can but it won’t be enough to show all the details of the car. If you are interested and want to see a large collection of detailed photos, end me your email address and I will send you access to an album on Shutterfly (130+ photos). These great old Fords are getting harder and harder to find in unmolested condition. Do not hesitate to ask for specific photos or additional information. If you are within driving distance, ome and take it for a test drive.
