Before you get your panties in a bunch with the National Guide Values below, here's my purpose in showing them.

The first NADA book value reflects an original GT Fastback as if it had a HP Engine, 4 speed and Pony Ads; somewhat close to this car as it was from the factory. @ $81,410.00

The next NGV NADA book sheet reflect the market value on a "Real" Shelby GT350 (Non-"R") @ $247,000.00

The next NGV Haggerty book sheet reflect the market value on a "Real" Shelby GT350R @ $1,100,000.00*

The Mustang listed in NOT a Factory Built 66 Shelby GT350R but a highly modified GT Fastback that we collaborated with Peter Brock, the original designer of many of the Vintage 60s Shelby's to build. More on this story below.

*Look like you have a Shelby GT350R without the seven figure budget

Before you send me an email asking me for my "best price, bottom-line or asking price" let me just make a suggestion based on 36 years of buying and selling experiences. Deals are made through conversations, not texting, not emailing or conversations without even knowing who or what you are talking to, they happen throughpersonal contact. I want my my clients to know who they are trying to make a deal with. I want to know their real intent to buy also. This equation does not exist with "What's your best price?" and no personal contact. I have gone to great lengths to find this incredible vehicle, make sure it's the best it can be for you and present it in a way that no other seller does online. I do that so we can talk, make a clear deal, fair for both sides and watch a happy buyer enjoy their new ride. If you just don't have the gumption to make contact and you just want an idea of price, look at what the market values posted above say, they are fairly accurate on AVERAGE vehicles across the US. If you think this vehicle is average, above or below, bid accordingly or. . . pick up the phone and have a pleasant conversation with a real enthusiast that can make your deal on the spot. Keeping it real.

Let's make a deal...Call me

There's a great story behind this build project over the course of a few years. Classic cars are as much about their stories and how they came to be as they are what they are to today's automobile aficionados. To start with it's beginnings, this 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback A-Code rolled out of the factory in Buffalo, New York on February 11, 1966. This was not a base model Fastback either, it was an A-Code 4bbl performance model with a 4 speed manual transmission and a Pony interior. I don't believe it was an original GT because that car has been so modified over the years and at this point and with this build, it really doesn't matter anymore. What it started out to be and what it is now are two different animals. The history from February 1966 to February 10, of 2014 is quite unknown other than that was the day I bought this car. (See pictures below). As you have already found, if you've read to this point and have more interest, this car is really unlike any other Mustang you have seen recently and there is good reason for that; there's only two other famous Fastbacks in the world with this front valance. If you have been an avid follower of Carol Shelby and co-designer Peter Brock, you may know more about this design. If not, we have a plethora of good information below.

Let's start with all that I can tell you about the car. On February 10th, 2014 I found a locally listed Mustang Fastback GT350 clone for sale and immediately made contact and went to see the car. An hour after I inspected it for general condition, I paid the asking price and drove away with the car. That's pretty usual for me when it comes to Mustang Fastbacks between 1965-1973. If they are priced right, Ill own them with the intent to better their condition or fully modify them then remarket them. Being a dealer for a national vintage Mustang parts supplier, Scott Drake, gives me an advantage for getting parts and restoration supplies direct from the manufacturer located right here in Las Vegas. That's also why we are constantly building and restoring vintage Mustangs too. When i first brought this Mustang back to the shop, she drove horrible, barely made it to the shop and when I further inspected the car, I realized as nice as it appeared, that I needed to do a lot to make it something I would enjoy driving. So the project began almost two years ago...

When you see the pictures below of the car when I bought it, you may question why I would determine to completely rebuild this car. Well like most ad pictures, these were the pictures from when I bought it that the seller had posted, the car looks great in pictures...doesn't it? But poor quality photography and dark pictures do not tell the whole story. When I got to the home of the seller, the car had great 20 foot presence but the closer I looked, the paint was horrible and faded, old dingy and flaking off the car. The stripes had so much over spray that lines were unclear. The side quarter windows were in rough condition and scratched badly, chrome trim around the entire car was rough at best and dented. The hood was a cheap Shelby knockoff and splitting at the seams, the side scoops cracked and nearly falling off. The suspension was just scary to drive, the engine was ok, but made me nervous just driving it to the shop. The interior looked old, scratched and faded. The doors were rusty at the bottoms and overall the car just felt like it needed some restoration to give it a new life. As you all know by now, even rough Fastbacks do not come cheap but I knew I wanted this car and I was willing to invest in what i already know is a safe investment, the Hottest 60s Muscle Cars, the Mustang Fastbacks in any skin.

Let the Project begin. These are pictures from the original project build at a body shop in Las Vegas (no need for mention here). When I contracted to initially have the car refurbished, the body shop doing the work told me that the car needed some metal work and the body needed to be straightened out and a year later, they completed the car. Their paint job was horrible, the hood still looked like crap and the stripes were vinyl and laid terribly, frankly I spent a lot of money and the car didn't look much better than when I bought the car. Needless to say, I was hot under my collar. I decided to live with it and begin focusing on the drive-train and mechanical aspects....

I asked my son to drive it down to A Best Auto, a local high performance shop in Henderson 12 miles away. Now remember, the engine seemed marginal to me but not too bad... That didn't last too long. When my son drove it to the shop, he didn't realize the car was a 5 speed and over revved the car while driving it and when the shop called me, they had big concerns with the engine. Turns out that we needed to completely rebuild the engine. So, I opened my wallet again and decided to go hardcore and build a very healthy high performance solid race engine. Four months later and another huge chunk out of my wallet and we had a serious performer. Notice in the picture below, A Best Auto is not just your average shop, yes, that's a Lamborghini above my car getting a full engine rebuild too. He paid a lot more for his than I did for mine. I'll also be way more confident to drive mine daily or on the track than he will too.

Here are the specs for this engine.

Once the drive-train was sorted out, the car was too badass to leave it with the substandard body and paint. Also, it was at this time that I hired the lead paint and body guy from the Shelby America Inc. plant here in Las Vegas. We have had a booth and full body facility here but no employees to do the work. So, excited to make this a high quality build, I employed a crew and began tearing this car down for a second time. Midway through our build, I got a call from my friend Peter Brock, owner of BRE (Brock Racing Enterprises). You may recognize his name and association as the famous designer with Carol Shelby. Peter who lives and works here in Henderson Nevada met me years ago when I attended his grand opening with one of my 1963 Ford Cobra 427s I owned at the time. We've maintained contact since and when he call, he asked if I had any Fastback Mustang's in build status. I just happened to have this one torn down to it's unibody. He wanted to collaborate with us on a remake of his original design of the GT350R front valance that he and Carol Shelby initially presented to Ford Motor Company. They declined the higher quality and functionally better front valance because it was too expensive to build. Peter was now going to build and market the original design and needed our help in fitting and attachment process. We obliged gratefully with the request that we could have the first unit or (prototype) to come off his production line.

After an extensive proper rebuild and high quality refinishing of the body and frames, paint was applied to a beautiful body with the GT350R2 front valance, paint stripes painted and cleared over as per GT350 specs, paint cut and polished and the car assembled for it's debut with Peter Brock. See his happy response in picture below.

Peter Brock

Peter, called on a Saturday morning and asked if he could come up and see our finished car. We were excited to hear he was coming again and got even more excited when he showed up with a 2017 Shelby GT350 and his friend Mark Ewing from Forbes magazine. Below is a write up on the history of the original two GT350R2 prototypes that were raced and built with this same front valance. We have also posted some cool pictures of the original two cars. Just a note to remind you, the car we are marketing is NOT one of these two cars.

See our car and the write up about Peter Brock and his 800 miles drive in the 2017 Ford Shelby GT350 in a link that we can send you upon request.

Enough about the original two cars...you're looking at buying ours and you won't have to spend seven figures to get one of the originals.

In a nut shell, this is a super high quality restored, high-end pro-touring 1966 Ford Mustang A-code Fastback Shelby GT350R2 tribute. Full professional build 302 with short tube headers throaty exhaust and even louder when you open up the electric side outs for the track days or showing off. Fiberglass Shelby hood and brand new 17-Inch Shelby wheels wrapped with BFGoodrich G Force ZR Rated high performance rubber. Spectacular body and paint, stunning exterior bright work and new interior, custom cluster with a 5 speed transmission. . . .plus a whole lot more if you read the list.

Why are we selling it? Because that's what we do, we build vintage Mustangs, restore them, refurbish them and some fully modify and you get to own them and enjoy them. This particular one will be a show stopper for sure. Those in the know, will know you have something special and unique and with a history and story behind it to boot. That what these cars are about for me as I am sure they are for you too...at least if you are the buyer. So many lookers on eBay just want to buy cheap junk for numbers that don't even make any sense, but my buyers always tell me when we make the deals, they were looking for just the right car and if this is it for you, call me and let talk about what it'll take to make it yours.

During this shoot with Peter Brock, he said he wanted to sign the dash of our car so I will be posting a picture of the signed dash when I take the car down to his shop. this next week.

Imagine sitting yourself into those bolstered leatherette racing seats, strapping yourself in and launching this speed demon down the road while you shift through the five gears...with the electric side outs fully opened. You will feel like your in a race car for sure.

This Mustang's potent curbside swagger exactly matches the sizzling performance and modern reliability its Hollywood good looks suggest. Acceleration, handling and braking all live up to the image projected. Inside, no stiff heater controls or floppy old seats - just supple new like seats and full interior that new and a real wood steering wheel that gives the finished looks of this Mustang like the original GT350R race cars. Original restorations are fun to look at but nostalgia is a poor substitute for the spine-tingling experience of actually piloting a well sorted '60s hot rod. To properly enjoy an American classic on today's roads demands expensive, latest-tech upgrades, old car savvy and patient commitment to details. That painstaking process with this Mustang has created a one-of-a-kind pony car that literally defines the pro-touring genre and commands top dollar . . . today and well into the future.

Wood applications of the Pony interior look so good with the wood steering wheel starring you in the face.

The center dash GT350R Tach pod gives such a cool look and effective to see too.

The Pistil Grip Hurst shifter gives that rock you control feel for sure.

This Stereo comes with a USB plug under the dash to hook up all your cool sounds

The original Shelby GT350Rs didn't have fold down back seats for racing purposes, but you can lay down the seats for the similar look. Then put it up to take the kids.

Brand new quarter windows from Tony D Branda don't come cheap but they are worth the view on our wall for sure.

Professional Build 302 Cubic Inch V8 Engine bored 60 over

Quick Fuel 4-barrel carburetor, Edlebrocl highrise aluminum intake manifold, coated tri-y lheaders, MSD Distributor, Chrome Dress up valve covers, Shelby aluminum radiator, and Aluminum heads. All new hoses and wiring new throughout. Makes for a show case under the hood...but do not mistake it for just show. This engine is built to race and perform.

Complete disassembly and replacement of all steering and suspension system pieces with new springs, shocks, poly bushings, larger front sway bar and installation of rear sway bar . . . Undercarriage showcases the exceptional quality of this build

The Quick Time Performance electric exhaust side outs are way too cool. We will post a video on our Facebook site under VivaLasVegasAutos for all to see and hear.

A note from the owner.

I am a “used car dealer” but before that, I’m an automobile enthusiast. I love original rare and high quality modified vintage cars and over the past decade I’ve been in business, have come to appreciate an expanding selection of high-demand, high value vehicles. I specialize in and am always on the lookout for cars and trucks that were cherished by their previous owners. I have an experienced eye for quality but I’ve discovered that my preferred buyer can instantly discern such a vehicle and I have therefore, built my business and reputation around finding these kinds of cars for this type of customer. Super low miles and/or gentle ownership are strict requirements but a car must do something for me on a personal level if there is any hope of convincing you, the bidder, that this is an above average, exceptional vehicle. If nothing about the car excites me, it probably won’t do much for you either and I would soon be out of business.

With just four employees and no sales people, I realize how unusual a “dealership” like mine may at first glance appear. It has taken great care and effort to create such an organization and often, an unusually high investment in a particular car we are about to list. To sell the best it is critical to have a trusted expert in my corner and Chris, owner of A-Best Auto Repair in Henderson, Nevada has my back. He and his crew can fix anything; from a low budget beater to the absolute most expensive exotic you can name, no job is too big and no small detail unimportant. They do an exhaustive 130 point inspection on each and every vehicle and nothing escapes their methodical investigation. Experience has shown that everything I spend making a car truly “right” will come back to me not only with a higher selling price, but a happy customer that says good things about me. Moreover; it allows my writer to describe the car with ease and confidence, something that simply is not possible unless he thinks it is true. If major issues are found or the cost of fixing the car the way it should be makes it too expensive to sell, my choice is an easy one. I simply absorb a few hundred dollars loss for my trouble and sell it at auction.

After the vehicle is fully sorted it arrives at our facility where it encounters the suspicious eye of Tom, my writer that creates the presentations you see on eBay. He believes absolutely nothing I or anyone else tells him about the car as he combs over every inch, researches its history and documents originality and authenticity. Historical significance, rarity, special features, possible modifications and much more are used to accurately describe the vehicle with integrity and honesty. Most important for the potential buyer are the 100 to 150 high resolution pictures that I take myself. The pricey equipment I use would be right at home in the hands of the very best professional photographers and I’ve developed a logical format that walks you around the entire vehicle with close-up shots of every square inch. I provide detailed views of the interior, under the hood and then put it on a lift to show the undercarriage and confirm that the beauty of the car you are considering is not merely skin deep. Even our detailers are enthusiastic about the cars they so meticulously clean. This reconditioning can sometimes take several days and I’ve converted a paint booth, especially prepared for the professional clay bar and polishing each car lovingly receives.

Usually, I’ll also include a high definition video that shows the car doing its thing. If it’s a fast car, we film it going fast. If it’s a 4x4 you’ll see it crawling up a hill. In every case you will hear things like a rumbling exhaust, working sound system and watch the temperature fall on a digital, laser thermometer pointed at an air conditioning vent. How many “dealers” will video a Lotus Esprit doing a buck-eighty? We do.

No “dealer,” on-line or in the real world, takes it to this level. No other seller or organization provides you, the buyer, with so much information. I do this because it is the only way I can convince a person; often a world away, unable to touch or feel their purchase, that my vehicle is for real and what I say is the truth. All the above is necessary for me to stay in business while keeping integrity intact. I want every buyer to be happy and I need glowing feedback on eBay. To accomplish that I need satisfied customers that are as thrilled with their purchase as I was when I bought it.

If you have any questions at all, please call me on my cell at: 702-353-7500. If your inquiry is sincere and your offer serious, you’ll find me the most accommodating business partner you’ve ever dealt with. If you call or e-mail asking for my reserve or “what is my bottom line” I will be looking for ways to politely end the conversation. Until you are ready to actually pull the trigger, I will happily quote you the absolute highest nationally advertised suggested retail price I can find – a number we both know will not buy the car so, don’t waste your time, or mine. I am after all, a “used car dealer.”

Serious buyers know the maximum they can offer. I then must simply decide if I can sell for that number.

If you hit the reserve, the decision is no longer mine. I must sell at that number.

I don't respond to emails asking for"bottom line, sale price, reserve, or Buy-it-Now" figures on top line cars.

THE ONLY WAY YOU GET THOSE FIGURES IS TO CALL ME!

The book values posted below are relevant to "real" selling figures.

NADA & KBB wouldn't be in business if they posted nonsense. But they only account for averages around the nation. If this car is less than or better than average, bid or offer accordingly.
