Description

Today we have listed for sale what could possibly be one of the coolest, and certainly one of the best traditional 1932 Ford Roadsters around. This has been a 10 year long personal proect of the owner, and now that it's complete, he's decided to sell it, as he has another project on the burner! Before asking questions please read all the way through, everything should be pretty well answered, but if not feel free to ask. This is also the first time on the market for this vehicle, so it's definitely not something you've seen, and seen again!.I will do my best to describe it so that you feel you know it. It's hard to show the total story of thiscar in the words I use, but I have added as many pictures as possible -I tried to use pictures that covered the overall feel and look of the car. Please use the scroll feature to get to all of the pictures, sometimes they don't all come up without that scrolling and on a cell phone they may be harder to get to. We'd rather have you see more pictures than'needed'than too few - but they are all there, many of the interior, engine and undercarraige - I promise!Thesepics aremostly all taken at Evergreen Air Museum -many in front of a Douglas C-47 Skytrain that was part of the Normandy invasion in 1944.You will also note the Spruce Goose, a Saturn rocket and other planes in the background of some of the pictures. Evergreen is gracious in letting us use their planes and facility as a backdrop for these pictures. If you're ever in the McMinnville are please stop and see them - they have not only the air museum but an aerospace museum and an indoor water park! I use lower resolution so that anyone in the world can download them with relative ease. Please be aware that thisroadsteris advertised and for sale locally, nationally and globally, and we do reserve the right to end this auction at any time if the vehicle sells before auction ends. Thisverycool, unique, collectible, stylish and solidpiece of American traditional automotive historyis definitely for sale and definitely on the money price wise. If you are SERIOUS about thecar - please call my cell # 503.580.6225 if I don't answer the first time - try again later - if I am at work I may not be able to answer your call. Please be considerate of the time. This is an amazingly honest, and well thought throughvehicle and overall is simply an amazingand one of a kindrig - one you can drive, show off mess around withand show with pride.. Someone is going to get an enjoyable, fun and great collectible vehicle here. Buy it today and be the envy of those who hesitated and missed.

1932 Ford Roadsters - '32's are the quintessentialHotRod, and a roadster is the coolest of the breed. Over the years there have been some pretty mind blowing and 'rule setting' ones in the traditional hot rod world. We all know there are fiberglass ones by the droves, and even Brookville, Rod Bod's andmaybe even others have joined the fray with steel bodies. But. Ifyou've ever worked with vintage steel, you know there is just somethingabout the metal that Henry Ford produced these cars in. It's workable, andhasother alloys than just steel - plus it is, as Coca Cola used to say -"the real thing". This, my friends, is the real thing. It's notfor those who want to play house, it's for those who want to own a real house, a real deal all steel 1932 Ford Roadster. Is it the cheapest one ever? Nope. But go and gather the parts, if and when you can find them, and very quickly you will understand that the 'real thing' has an admission price. Not being snarky here, just honest. Yes, it's hot rodded a bit, but man oh man is it tastefully done. I will go through this car and answereveryquestion that I can think youmight ask. Here we go:startingwiththe original '32 chassis, with the 18 (V8)vin stamped in it, and uncutK Member add an original 32 steering box, column ignition switch lock andwheel, heavy '32 axle dropped 3 inches, '32 uncut wishbone, '32 pedals, add '40 ford brakesup front, and a comletely freshened8 inch Ford rear end. Sometimes people will ask 'why all the holes on the right side of the chassis? That's for a right hand drive, Ford would stamp the frames and send them overseas, this way there were mounting holes for a right hand drive steering box!! All the holes are in place as well to mount fenders on the chassis - aftermarket frames won't have these either. The brakes are all new, lines, hoses, cylinders, etc. all new. Drop in a 1961 283 Chevrolet small block, completely rebuilt and topped by a fresh Rochester tri-power - 3 deuce set up, which all looks awesome whether the hood's open or peeking through the louvers, behind that you will find a '66 Mustang 3 speed (just think syncros) toploader attached via a mount/bellhousing from We're Only 32's in Akron Ohio. Driveline is new and custom built as well. Cast manifolds deliver exhaust notes to pipes that are a bit bigger up front, and then neck down to 1 1/2 inch tail pipes. You aren't imagining it - there are no mufflers, and the exhaust note is darn near heavenly - or more simply put - it sounds great, but without too much bark. The engine is cooled by a custom built copper and brass radiator. Wheels are '40 Ford 16 inch out back and in front are 15 inch. Tires are Firestone Gum Dipped and are spankin' new - 7.50x16 in the rear / 5:60x15 up front and the wheels at both ends aretopped by no name Ford style caps.Inside what you will find is all business, that's leather on the seats and door panels my friends. Looks period, but it's all new. Dash is original '32 with a correct and '32 dash tunnel just like it should be. The insert is aftermarket and the speedo/odo is new. Floors are '32 and steel. As mentioned before, and as is visibly evident is the '32 column, cherry pie steering wheel and column drop/lock/switch. An original '32 e-brake handle is mounted with a We're Only '32 bracket and, unlike many, is functional. Pedals as mentioned before as well are original '32 items. Headlights and headlight bar, along with lenses are original, but have halogen inserts for safety and better lighting. Tail lights are LED, once again, for brightness and safety. One thing you don't see pictured, but that is available to the purchaser of the car (if you want it) is a new Lebaron-Bonney top and frame, that even includes the side curtains. This is cloth in the correct, or what I know to be correct, tan color. It's never been mounted to the car, and if you're going to run a chopped windshield, you may not want it. Just thought we would throw that out there. DId I tell you the body is original Henry Ford?? The only part that isn't are the inner fender wells, preety common for those to be bad after all these years. Everything else is OEM, just as Henry designed it, and his emplyees made it. Well, there are a few mods, like the '39 taillights, but you get my drift. The body, doors, deck lid, all original steel. Just the inner fender patch panels, the only repro piece in the body. Even the top tack rail is original '32. Grill shell is filled and peaked, but original. Cowl vent is original, in place and functional - you will note it's open just a bit for the pictures. Firewall is original and nice. It closes down as it should and fits fine. The windshield looks a little tall, as we are used to seeing chopped ones I think. The frameIS stock, and unchopped, though it would be so tempting, and easy, to run a chopped one, tilt it back a little..... This was a very solid body that came out of the midwest, and it had been an older hot rod back in the day, up into the 70's, with a groovy reddish brown color. The doors and deck lid all fit as the should, the trunk is a trunk, obviously, and not a rumble with a pull to unlatch it just under the seat. The paint is very nice, and is a more traditional single stage urethane, not lacquer, and not base clear. The license plate wasn't mounted, just in case you want it in between tailights, on the rear spreader bar, or wherever. The title is a clean and clear one with no brands or anything like that. The car is a bit of a blank slate, give it whatever personality you want, and make it yours, it certainly hasn't been seen by the public, so will be known as YOUR car, not so and so's. Those little details will be fun to add, as you build out the history that you and this car will have together. It's an amazingly honest and for real car.Every thing in and on this car has been thought through very carefully and methodically, it's not been just tossed together, and it wasn't built to be sold, and as sometimes happens, it's just turned out that way. It will be the source of many smiles, waves, envious stares and enjoyment that we know for sure, certainly not for the shy. Show it, store it,hop it up even more, daily drive it - any or all of these makes sense - just take care of it. Buy it, drive it and enjoy it - it's a better investment than stocks, bonds or money in the bank and one heck of a lot more fun! If you have questions please feel free to ask, we will do our best to answer you back in a reasonable amount of time.
