This fine example of a original appearing early sixties 2 door sedan hails from the famous Lingenfelter collection.
The Ford Falcon is an automobile that was produced by Ford from 1960 to 1970 across three generations. It was a sales success for Ford initially, outselling rival compacts from Chrysler and General Motors introduced at the same time. A redesign changed the Falcon’s looks for 1964. The new look was more squared-off, more modern, as Ford pursued the youth market. Later in 1964, Ford’s new offering for that market was launched: the Ford Mustang, based heavily on the Falcon’s unitized frame design but with no compromises about its youthful, fun intention
Re-finished in “Wimbledon White” style paint, this car shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. All the trim is present and is brilliant and displays normal wear. The optional front and rear bumpers fit is extremely tight and finish is exquisite. The weather-stripping is pliable, with little or no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The original wheels represent well with no major signs of marring or curb rash.
Inside, the refurbished black vinyl seats (with optional front bucket seats) come with grey cloth inserts. The black carpet is complete and also appears to be a recent addition, including the matching floor mats completes the theme. The original crack free dash is complimented with all the working factory gauges, with only some slight cracking in the dash aluminum insert panel. The original steering wheel functions as design with no cracks, with little or no wear. Completing the theme is the original AM radio.
This nicely represented Ford is equipped with a 170 cubic-inch performance six-cylinder engine mated to a 2-speed automatic transmission. This original Futura hardtop example also comes with the top trim level, including a chrome horn ring, rear armrests with ashtrays, chrome hood ornament, chrome side window moldings, chrome windshield and rear window moldings. Original equipment 13 inch steel wheels covered with stylish wire-wheel hubcaps and radial tires.
