Description

When you are searching for a classic muscle car as an investment, terms such as all numbers matching, low original miles, fully documented & concours restoration mean just about everything. Factory colors, options, motor/transmission combos & body-style are of course very important factors as well. It is always great when they all come together with one vehicle, then you know you have something truly special!

‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is extremely proud to offer you this absolutely stunning 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra-Jet Ram-Air 4-Speed car finished in its factory correct (Code T) Medium Red wrapped around a perfect factory correct (Code 3A) Black Vinyl Bucket Seat Interior w/ Sport Deck Rear Seat! Having not been on the road since 1982, a no-expense spared concours rotisserie restoration was just completed on this 48,000 original mile Mach 1, and the final results are nothing short of breathtaking! Please take the time to look at the photos of this gorgeous vehicle, as I am convinced it is the finest of its kind currently on the market. The nut & bolt restoration was fully documented w/ hundreds of photos of all of the original components laid out showing all codes & numbers (these photos are available upon request). The all-original 100% rust-free sheet metal is super straight all the way around the car, and the bright red paint is deep & shiny w/ a super glossy show-quality appearance throughout. It would be very hard to beat the Red/Black color combination on this 1970 Mach 1, that’s for sure! The factory correct matte black hood stripes, Ram-Air hood scoop, color-keyed racing mirrors, & rear deck spoiler round out one of the most ominous looking muscle cars that Ford ever created! The black rear window louvers were added during the extensive restoration and I must say that they look awesome on this car! This bad red pony looks like it means business folks and she has the perfect stance, while sitting on factory original 14” steel wheels w/ original Deep Dish Sports wheel covers wrapped w/ correct Firestone F70-14 Wide-Oval tires, as listed on the Window Sticker. You can walk around this car a hundred times and never find a bad angle, period.

When you slide into the absolutely perfect black bucket seat interior, you will swear that it is 1970 all over again! Factory correct & bone stock from front to back, it harkens back to a time when American muscle cars were built right! The correct Black Clarion Knit/Corinthian Vinyl Bucket Seats are absolutely beautiful & without flaw, as are the door panels, dash & woodgrain inserts. All of the original gauges including the factory Tachometer work perfectly, as do all lights, blinkers, AM radio, lighter, and factory original Rim-Blow steering wheel. There is nothing quite like the feeling of sitting in the driver’s seat of a big-block Mustang, firmly grasping the original Hurst T-Handle shifter and looking out over the Ram-Air hood scoop. This is as close as you will ever come to feeling what it was like back in 1970!

Open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the original numbers matching 428ci Ram-Air motor linked the original numbers matching 4-Speed Close Ratio Toploader Manual Transmission, which feeds power to the original numbers matching 3.50 Traction-Lok axle. This is one of the most beautiful engine bays that I have ever laid eyes on, w/ factory correct Autolite components throughout, correct colors, correct decals, tags, etc. The attention to detail is mind-boggling and the man-hours spent are countless! The original numbers matching 428/335hp motor was completely rebuilt to factory specifications (.30 over) balanced & blueprinted, and still maintains all of its original components such as heads, intake manifolds, Holley carburetor, exhaust manifolds, etc. down to the original Rev Limiter. The original Toploader 4-Speed transmission was also completely rebuilt throughout to factory specifications. Again, until just the last couple of months when the rotisserie restoration was completed, this gorgeous 1970 Mach 1 428 Cobra-Jet Mustang had not been on the road since 1982. She fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs beautifully in every way! I have driven hundreds of 1965-1971 Ford muscle cars of all types, but the power/torque that this Mach 1 delivers is truly impressive! The professionals who worked on this motor knew exactly what they were doing. She pulls very hard and shifts smoothly through all four gears. The factory Power Steering & factory Power Disc Brakes make driving around town effortless, but you get her out on the highway you will never want to back home. What more can I say? She is as close to a brand new 1970 Mach 1 as you will ever find anywhere, especially when you factor in that she only has 48,000 original miles!

This blue-chip investment-grade 1970 Mustang Mach 1 is fully documented w/ a complete Marti Report, Eminger Invoice, Window Sticker, and piles of reciepts for parts & labor performed during the restoration process. The Marti Report reflects that this is a one-of one builtw/ these colors & options! If you are searching for a classic muscle car that will only appreciate in value in the coming years, you won’t find a finer example! There is no better place to park your money than in classic car w/ thoroughbred pedigree, and this outstanding 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra-Jet car is simply that, a thoroughbred!
