Description

I bought this Ranger a while back with plans of installing turbo 2.3 with a T5 manual trans from an 1987 Thunderbird that was scrapped due to the front sub-frame rusting through. As these things often go, I turned my attention else where and the Ranger set unfinished. The truck originally housed an EFI 2.9 V6 with whatever automatic was found in this vintage (AOD?). When I acquired the truck, the engine and trans had already been removed.
I installed a clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder from a donor Ranger. I drilled the mounting rivets for the trans cross member mounts and moved it forward to accommodate the T5's different mounting point. I also sourced and installed OEM 2.3 motor mounts. The blower box originally on the truck housed the a/c evaporator and was too large to clear the turbo so I sourced a blower box from a non a/c Ranger. I have the box but it's not installed as you can see. None of the wires in the engine bay are cut that I'm aware of. The last item I needed for the power train install was a driveshaft. The aluminum one I sourced from the junkyard was slightly too short and had insufficient spline engagement. It was about that time my attention was called away and I never returned to the truck.
This is a no reserve action with a starting price of $0.01 Hauling is available for $1.50 a loaded mile with a $100 minimum.

I have a ton of turbo 2.3 stuff that I have collected over the years. I have the turbo engine and T5 (~120K miles) the was meant to be in the Ranger, a few 2.3 engines (N/A& turbo), a turbo manifold, turbo, large VAM, K&N air fiIter, 8 65 lb injectors and more. That's not the extent of what I have so if you're looking for a particular type of part let me know and I'll see what's available. If I have what you're looking for, I'll make a listing starting at $0.01 if I don't have price in mind. I have came to the point where a more organized garage is worth more to me than the hardware.
