Here i have is the must have for ford fans! a 1966 ford mustang fastback! a very decent all original recent barn find! I just pulled it out of a 30 year slumber a few weeks ago. i went through the brakes and installed new wheel cylinders, master cylinder, spring kits and a few new brake lines. it still would need them cable things to work the adjusters as the spring kits didnt include them but the brakes still work good as is. i put in a new water pump, thermostat, and radiator hoses. the heater hoses and belt should be replaced sooner than later. missing the air cleaner though. who ever had it in the 80's had the head freshly rebuilt and had new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and points installed. and while now old the tires are ''new''. i will be installing a new fuel sending unit this week as the old unworking one leaked real bad around the gasket after i put it back in when i cleaned out the tank. so just a few more little things and this would be a reliable driver as is so i highly recommend bringing a trailer! ive put on about 20 miles on it and have been trouble free so far. im sure it would need or rather you should replace the old bushings and ball joints anyways. oh and the transmission will need a new vacuum modual as is its a bit sluggish to engage properly going foraward and has sluggish shifts. the bands and clutches are good though as when they do grab they grab hard as they should and it cruises down the highway nicely as a 50 year old beater could. so about the car its a 1966 ford mustang fastback 2+2 with just over 90,000 miles. its a 200 6 cylinder automatic transmission. its a turn key car! literally you dont even have to hit the gas just turn the key and in half a crank it fires right up! overall it has a very nice and straight body. it would need new fenders and bumpers are they are damaged and rusted and would be cheaper and easier just to replace them rather than fix them. otherwise there not to much damage. a few dents her and there but nothing thats not easily fixable. it does have some rust issues with the worst being in the fenders as i stated and the the lower rear quarters and wheel wheels and the the battery tray area. and one area of rust that should be fixed right away is around where the rear shackles of the leaf springs mount to the car. thats the only spot where theres rust out in the structural frame rail areas of the car, the rest is really solid. i took plenty of pictures to showcase its condition. the interior is very good for a 50 year old car. the front seats are very nice with just some ripped seams. the rear seat and package area are very nice. the dash pad is decent but does have some cracks. headliner is decent but does have some mouse holes the carpet is junk, at least the front half is anyways. overall this a fairy clean and relatively solid example of an original unmolested 1966 mustang fastback that needs very little more to become a reliable daily driver. a person could fix most of the remaining flaws and repaint the car over winter and you would have a very very nice driver come next spring............or totally gut it and make it into yet another elenor clone or what ever else trips your fancy. i'm putting this on a 10 day auction in hopes that it does sell which if it does, one i require a $500 down payment within 24 hours, but also my local car show is on the 21st and the feature year is 1966 so i will be taking it there and putting it in the feature class. so from that sunday afternoon and later it will be ready for pickup. i do have good title for it. while who ever buys it can do what ever they want to it i hope they keep it an original 6 cylinder car because everyone under the sun has a v8 powered mustang.... so it would stand out more with it and plus theres plenty of ways to soup up them old 6's especially with todays tech! anyways i have more pictures at this link here
i have a video of it on youtube and do a walk around and a test drive down the highway(note the test drive happened before i cleaned the car so thats why it dirty then but not on the walk around) so i have link to video here at this link here
