Description

1969 Mustang Deluxe M-codeConvertible . Very Rare. Only 3,439 deluxe convertibles were built in 69. Marti report shows this to be one of 4 with this color combination. This auction is for shell only. What you see in photos is what you get with this auction. This is a original California ca, San Jose built, and stayed in California most of its life, although hard to tell buy the condition of the body. Was a factoryM-code 351 Windsor with 3 spd. Was originally Wimbledon white with deluxe gold interior, with manual white convertible top. Auction is for rolling shell, convertible top bows are still there, Original 9 inch rear with 3:00 gears still there, steering column with standard wheel, clutch pedals still in place. The engine compartment has typical battery apron rusted out, the spots on top where aprons overlap are starting to rust though also common. Next the complete cowl assembly needs a lot of work. The top and bottom cowls are rotted mainly at the outside edges, the inner andouter cowl side panels are rotted, and also the front door jambs where doors bolt on are rotted, can see in photos, also where windshield frame meets door jambsis rotted out both sides, windshield frame is not sturdy because of this. Drivers floor rotted out, drivers rear still somewhat solid, passenger floors front and rear were replaced with sheet metal patches, also the passenger side rear floor under rear seat has some rust holesstarting to go though. The inner frame rail on drivers side where front floor was rotted out has 2-3 small holes in it, probably size of a pencil eraser, from what I can see the rest of the inner frame rail looks good, may be able to just patch the small holes. The passenger side inner frame rail is hard to tell, its solid up to where the front floor patch was installed, but cant see under the floor, from out side looks solid. Rear quarter panels look fairly good, there are sections along bottom that have old bondo and paint cracking, no dents in quarter panles that I can see, both trunk floor pans are still solid, the drop offs down to quarter panel rusty but still fairly solid, both wheel houses look pretty good, there are old patches at the bottoms on both sides where there was rust through, but not bad. Transition panel between trunk and where rear shocks bolt to is bent on one side, maybe previous accident or ran something over. Both rear frame rails are really nice, no rust at all on them. Both doors look solid, but have previous bondo patches at bottoms also has old cracking paint, but look to be useable. Glass still in doors and have quarter glass. The sections where convertible top tacking strips bolt to are heavily rusted out, would need to rebuild whole aasembly,it also affected where the rear trunk hinges mount also rotted. Rear taillight panel was cut out to make Shelby taillight conversion. Both front torque boxes look solid, but have heavy undercoating on them.Car needs a lot of metal work, but most replacement panels are available. Car had no power options, all manual Have California title from last owner. And Marti report. Car is sold as is, nothing extra goes with car just what you see in photos. Please ask questions you have before bidding. Thanks
