Description

A very nice LX Mustang Hatchback Survivor car that qualifies for the Ebay-buyback protection up to $50,000.,Stock all around except for the GT rims and oversize tires, a bit of a time-capsule. Carfax verifies the low mileage.
You can take delivery and go to your local Cruise Night tomorrow, or you can drive it.. even as You do whatever restoration you want to. On a recent trip I got 32-MPG at a steady 70-MPH in Cruise control.
The car has air/cruise/PS/AM-FM radio with a cassette-player! Even the heater/defroster works well. Windows roll up-dn easily, Hatch stays up, and the privacy-sheet (in matching Blue) works well. in fact everything works including the little OH-lights and Hatch-interior lights....except maybe the cassette plaver?, lost all my old Creedence-Clearwater cassetts so havent tried to run the cassette player
. The Mustang looks great and runs the same way, paint is still in great condition, and tires are the same, uncracked dash, no tears or rips in the headliner, door cards unmarked and fully functional, outside door mirrors adjust fine with the indoor controls, All gagues work fine, SMALL RIP IN THE DRIVERS SIDE SUNVISOR, no rips in the rugs, a real Survivor car that shows much evidence of garage-care.
This Mustang is unique in that it is inexpensive to Insure and to Gas-Up, And you will rarely see another one at car-shows or Cruise nights. And the AC, together with the Blue interior, makes the car a nice place to be even on the hottest days. The Sunroof s a FACTORY item. that hasn't leaked yet Unlike the aftermarket units, this one has the factory-rolled channels and tight fittings. I had it covered with the darkest tint because of my aging forehead and pre-cancereous skin bumps (I turned 75 last May)
My reading tells me that the last two years of the Fox-body cars they all got the factory V8 front/rear suspension, swaybars and geometry. However the front springs were lighter. So dropping in a 5.0 engine and trans would be easier than with earlier Mustangs
Body: even after careful checking, has NO rust to be seenon/in the body/floors/fenders. And only slight surface rust on some suspension components.THE CAR SPENT ITS LIFE IN HIGH/DRY COLORADO (Carfax verified) in Grand Junction, Co.
The original buyer must have been a thrifty/pragmatic soul who took care of his toys and drove them very sparingly..NEW in last 12 months: windshield /rear shocks/ PS-AC-Alt-belts / Windshield air intake / Headlights all 6 /tailights both /.Bulbs all 14 /tranny and diff. flush-fil l/tires /tailpipe /wiper blades/ clutch-cable and housing......and more that I have forgotten for sure.
NEW STUFF going with the car:: Rear Brake components = Drums-2, shoes-4, cylinders-2, spring-set-2, flexhose to steeline-1, front pads -4. Sparkplug wire set (in Blue) with plugs and a bit more that escapes me right now.
USED STUFF going with the car: 200 KPH speedo head from Canada, not a speed part, just fun for the car shows .
And I installed the GT rims just because I like the way they look. Same for the new tailpipe with the Chrome tip (although the new tailpipe now causes a rattle on some bumps).
Based on the overall condition of the car, and the way it was optioned... and the way it runs/drives, I believe the odlometer mileage to be accurate.

Thanks for the question about the seats. they, like the rest of the interior, have no rips or tears, pretty comfortable, but have a little sun-fade in some areas.
and as regards "Why selling"? I bought this for the monthly cruise nights in nearby Golden, and the local car shows. Fun to drive up and park and answer questions about it. But the reality of ageing means that I cannot do mechanical work like I used to. For instance, once I decided to overhaul the brakes I bought all the parts, jacked up the rear and found that it hurt too much to keep getting up/down.....and my G-kids live too far away to help. now all the parts, new in their boxes, wait in the back of the Mustang for....? so the Wife and I decided to buy a New one. It is parked in the driveway now.Getting old is not for sissies
