1987 Ford 5.0 LX Mustang Convertible
1 of 68 Produced
Rare Jonquil / Medium Yellow (6H)
The car is completely Stock with Absolutely no modifications at all. It has the desirable 5.0 (302) engine and automatic transmission. It showing just 70821 Original miles and has always been garaged. It has been Very well maintained and looked after its whole life. The car still retains most of its original Factory Ford parts and the few that have been changed on the car were replaced with Mortorcraft replacement parts. The car runs and drives perfectly and has no issues of any kind and in addition has never been in an accident. In addition, I do not know if the odometer has turned over 100,000 miles and I have no way to verify that it has or has not but given that the car retains most of its original Factory Ford Part, Nomodification, and the overall greatsurvivorcondition of the car I don'tbelievethat it has
Only 68 total Jonquil / Medium Yellow 5.0 LX Mustang Automatic convertible cars were made in 1987 and it is by fare one of the rarest colors to have since it was only an option for the 1987 and 1988 production models. The production number is even lower once you consider that is has a Tan top and Tan interior but you will have to get a Marti Report to get the all the details
Paint and Body
The paint and body on the car are in good shape for a 30 year old car...it is extremely clean and straight with no dents or dings of any kind except for one minor dent. The convertible top is in excellent shape with no rips, tears, or signs of deterioration on the top and it does not leak. The car does come with its original convertible boot cover and bag. It also has a newer set of 225/60/15 tires with about 80% of tread life on them. The car does show some signs of normal wear for the mileage and age it has. As you may know these cars were painted with Single stage paint from the factory so there are some signs of fading of the paint and normal paint chips from driving. In Addition, the bottom of the doors and trunk lid have start showing some signs of the normal paint bubbling that is very common on Mustang Fox Body's (see pictures)
Interior
The Tan leather interior is in great shape as well with no flaws or issues...it’s a 8 out of 10 too. It’s never been smoked in and has no funny smells. The seats, carpet and door panels are in great condition...as they should be. Given that the car is aconvertiblethere is some light fading on some of the interior parts and carpet (see pictures). The dash is mint and un-cracked and Yes the ashtray door and console lid are in prefect working order and not broken or cracked either. The windows and locks function as new and the A/C has been converted over to 134A and blow very cold. The original stereo system sounds great and works perfectly. Again, there are some normal signs of fading on the interior my guess is the original owner did drive with the top down in Florida.
Drive train
The 5.0 (302) engine (all numbers matching of course) cranks and runs perfectly. The Automatic transmission shifts great. The AC blows cold. It has a new battery, and has recently been serviced. There are No Modifications. The car drives great, very smooth with no rattles or noises and can be driven anywhere without worry!
This car is a true survivor and has been treated very well over the years. It’s been stored properly and maintained in a way to keep it in great driver condition. The car does have a clean CarFax report. This car would make someone a very nice classic driver quality car that could be driven to car shows or a fun weekend get-a-way to the beach car. It is an amazing find!
I have done my best to describe the overall condition of the car and have taken over 150 pictures and video's for yourviewing
Mustang’s 5.0 in this condition with NO MODs are very rare to find. The car is desirable and rare given its color!
